Chapter 17: Sleep is important?

Wednesday, Dec 11th

"Hey Lucy" I exclaimed exhausted.

I'd just reached Lucy's house so we could walk to school together.

I yawned and entered.

Lucy looked beyond exhausted, I couldn't exactly blame her.

She'd been stressing about the Math test that was today.

Lucy was changed and ready to go to school, she was cramming.

"Hey Lucy, are you okay?" I asked concerned.

"I'm fine" She replied.

I placed my hand on her head, it was burning.

"Lucy, you have a fever" I told her. "How many hours of sleep did you get?"

"I haven't slept since Monday" Lucy brought the book closer to her face.

I looked at her worried for her health and safety.

"Don't worry Natsu, this happens once in a while" Lucy looked up at me. "You learn to deal with it after a while"

Lucy and I ventured outside her house and started to head for school.

Lucy got a little tipsy and almost fell over sometimes.

We reached school safely without any injuries except Lucy's bump on her head from walking into a lamppost.

I walked Lucy to her locker worried she'd tip over, and fall.

She managed to make it safely to her locker.

I snuck over to my locker and emptied my bag and grabbed the items out of my locker.

I quickly rushed back to Lucy's locker to check if she was there, she was on the ground trying to memorize formulas.

I pulled her up from the ground, grabbing her books for her and walking to class.

The class door was open so we entered to go find a few students similar to Lucy who were cramming.

I dumped Lucy's books on her desk and she took a seat.

Almost like a queen and a servant.

I sighed out of exhaustion.

I sat down on the chair and let my muscles relax.

A girl approached me.

"Natsu, do you have study notes for Math, I forgot to bring mine and I heard you have good study notes" She said flashing me a friendly smile.

I passed her my notes.

"Thank you, I'll return them by the end of the day" She said running off quickly to her desk to study.

I looked to Lucy to check if she was okay.

She seemed to have been watching me.

When I made eye contact, she avoided looking at me.

"What?" I asked puzzled.

"Nothing it's just refreshing to see a girl that's not in love with you" She answered exhausted.

Sting and Yukino entered the classroom panting.

They walked towards their desks and talked to each other.

The teacher walked in and started the class.

The Math test was last period but I honestly just hope Lucy makes it to next period.
