RAYMOND  & MAYA.....

Raymond opened the front door of his apartement and was shocked at the sight infront of him. For a minute he could not recognise her,she looked different. It had only been a few weeks but she looked like it had been months since he asked for a divorce. He had the urge to pull her in for a warm embrace and he did that. She pushed him away and handed him the envelope she had in her hand. He looked up from the envelope to find her gone.

'Shit!'

Raymond opened the envelope,fliping through the two pages repeatedly not believing what he had done. He slumped into the seat he stood infront of  and put his head inbetween his hands as he found it difficult to breathe with the lump in his throat and let the tears fall for his ending marriage.

'Man I didn't think she would actually go through with it. I thought she would atleast fight for us,for our marriage. Thought she would agree to the baby for us.'

Ray said to his long time friend Lawrence.

' Ray,for as long as I've known Maya she has never fought for someone who left her. Remember when that footballer left she just carried on like she never knew him and when he came back wanting her back,she basically told him to f off! She's the good riddance type.'

'Rence (rans) this is different man. We are married,she can't just give up on our marriage and relationship and friendship just like that. We have been together since our diaper days.'

'But you did that by asking for a divorce.'

Lawrence added nonchalantly. He did not understand why his friend would end a beautiful marriage because of a baby. He would do anything for a woman like Maya and now that she was available maybe he would,he thought to himself.

' So what does it say?'

Kelly excitedly asked her friend. Maya shoved the stick into her hands afraid to look at it. Kelly looked at it and screamed scarring Maya,Nicole and Lily.

'You're more than a month pregnant boo'

Maya sighed into her hands as she lay face down on her bed.

' No! No! No!'

She cried out. The girls rubbed soothingly on her back as they lay on either side of her.

'How can this happen now! When everything seems to be falling apart. How am I going to raise this baby without Ray... I can't do this. He wanted this baby and now he's not even here for it. I can't do this.'

Maya cried onto Kelly's shoulder.

' You can do it hun.. we will help you,we're here for you. We will help you with the baby and pregnancy.'

All the girls nodded as Lily spoke

'We can even make those late night weird craving runs to the shop.'

Nicki smiled

'I don't think I am ready to be a mother guys. What if I am a bad mother. What if it hates me for not having a present father. What will my mother say when she finds out I am divorced and pregnant.'

'He or she will not hate you because Ray will be present,divorced or not. He is a good guy,stupid yes but he will be present and you can never be a bad mother with us around. Your mother is not important right now.'

Maya hugged Lily as the ladies laughed. Feeling blessed to have the friends she had.
