RAYMOND & MAYA...

Maya parked her vehicle in the clinics parking lot. She hopped out the car and put on her sunglasses trying to be less recognisable before checking her surroundings to see if she find spot anyone watching her or anyone she knew. Which was highly unlikely since she went to a clinic two hours away from her town. You can never be too careful she thought.

She headed to the clinic entrance with her face down,almost making her bump into a young lady who was leaving with another woman who appeared to be her mother. The young lady smiled at her when she apologised and she could not help but notice that her smile was forced,she got the feeling she did not want to be here. Her eyes were red and her nose red and puffy like she had been crying.

'Afternoon I am Dr. Rippers two o'clock appointment.'

Maya spoke to the nurse who seemed to be judging her after looking at the wedding ring in her finger. The nurse quickly looked away and showed her into a room where she handed her a gown to change into. Maya shivered as she changed out of her clothes,she wondered why since the room was not that cold and did not even have air conditioners on.

' Maya are you ready?'

The doctor questioned her after setting everything up and she said yes as she looked up at the ceiling. They personally knew each other from medical school,hence she got this appointment even though she was fully booked for today. None of her friends knew she was here because she did not want to be talked out of it. Her phone rang,the caller identification read Ray which she silenced and told the doctor to continue.

' Maya when you get this please call me back we need to talk. We can't just give up like this on our marriage. Baby I am sorry I handled this wrong and I am willing to give us another chance. We - please call me back or answer my calls. I love you.'

Raymond sat his phone down on his desk and continued pacing up and down his office. He desperately needed to talk to Maya who had been ignoring his calls since she signed the papers. He hoped to see her when he went to get the rest of his clothes as ordered by her but she was not home instead her brother was the one who was waiting for him in their home. His intentions were to talk but he instead took his clothes since she was not there.

'Deo,has Kelly said anything to you about Maya?'

'No,she has not been to see her since they returned from the trip and as for before then she did not tell me anything.'

Raymond walked out of his good friend's office and tried to call Maya's parents and siblings who all said they had not spoken to her. He checked the time to see that it was two thirty and his client would be here soon. He suddenly had an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach,like something was wrong, which made him nauseous. He ran into the nearest toilet and emptied his lunch into it.

'Morning sickness?!'

Amadeo joked as he watched him wash his face and mouth in the bathroom. Raymond had been having nausea for a few days now and today was the first time he actually vomitted. He was never one to consult as most men, so he dismissed it as a bug. He attended to his oral hygiene before heading off to his meeting.
