I know you wanna leave me / But I refuse to let you go / If I have to beg and plead for your sympathy....Raymond held to his son while he opened the door for Maya. They had another visit with the therapist. She personally was not interested in going through another session but she had had enough of Raymond's begging.
' He's growing up very fast. '
' He's a king. We are tall strong men.'
Maya shook her head as she watched them interact. It was as if she was not even there.
' Do you even need me here?!'
She asked causing Raymond to smile. It had been a while since he had seen the jealous side of his wife. Regent it was as if it mattered not to her if he was around or not.
' Oh I'm sorry can we get started on the session.'
The therapist discussed past exercises and rebuilding the trust back into their lives which Maya only half listened to.
' I just want you two to rebuild on a solid foundation.'
' That's why we're here. To start a over and make this work.'
Maya raised her hand causing the therapist to laugh but point at her. She turned her attention of after she was given the opportunity.
' Make what work?! I'm confused don't you have a girlfriend you're currently fully committed to. Who by the way doesn't know that we're not officially divorced or that you are having therapy sessions with your so called ex wife.'
' Raymond? Does she also not know that you haven't filed the divorce papers with your lawyer?'
Maya who was now facing her front, made a dramatic turn of her head and raised both eyebrows at her husband.
' You haven't given David our signed divorce papers?'
' Nope.'
' Why?! Wait that's not even important. You mean to tell me that you're a married man with a girlfriend?!!'
Raymond weakly nodded his head yes. Maya laughed and stood up from her chair against the therapists advice. She took her son out of the playpen and walked out with Raymond following behind her trying to get her to stop and talk to him.
' Raymond King please do not touch me or I swear I won't be held responsible for what I do to you.'
' Maya just hear me out.'
' There's nothing you can say that I want to hear. Just leave my son and I the hell alone. I was so confused as to why you were so adamant we do this couple's therapy even though we were divorced. I actually convinced myself that you regretted divorcing me and really wanted to start over but I was the fool. You're just avoiding a divorce.'
' I do genuinely want us to work on our marriage and I regret the rash decisions I've made but I don't regret filing those papers.'
' You understand that you've been cheating on your wife. You've been having an affair. '
' Kim was just a distraction.'
' A distraction you had while still married to me.'
' We were separated and you had that David guy.'
' I thought we were divorced and I never got the chance to have anything with him. I was so confused why you did that but now I see everything so clear.'
The couple argued all the way home.
' I thought you'd be happy that we weren't divorced.'
' You're really something. How can I be happy after everything that has happened. How can I be happy that you had me thinking I was going to be a single mother to our children.'
' What do you mean?'
'I'm pregnant! You Idiot!!!'
