Raymond smiled at his newborn son who had his father's pinky finger in his miniature palm. Which he had slipped through the round opening of the mechanical device he was placed in. The doctor had informed him that due to the severity of Maya's condition they had to immediately perform an emergency cesarian section to save the baby's life which he had to consent for.

' Blind anger almost cost me you and your mommy.'

He almost jumped for joy when they told him Maya had a baby boy even though his excitement was short lived for the fact that Maya was in a critically unstable condition and was currently unconscious but the doctor hoped that she would be awake the following day.

' Hey little man... this is your father here...'

Raymond spoke to his son with the tears silently running down his cheeks. He was glad that his son was doing well but he could not help the guilty feeling he had eating him up inside. Since last night all he had been doing is praying,he has never prayed so much in his life and he found himself even bargaining with Him. Even though he learnt in Sunday school as a kid that you should never bargain with the most High but at this very moment he was desperate. He could not live with himself if he knew that he took away his son's mother.

'Sir... I am sorry to disturb but I am nurse Rose and I would like to take your son's vitals and check his diaper?'

Raymond nodded afraid to speak to the fact that his voice was currently hoarse due to the crying he had been doing for the past two days. He watched as the nurse checked on his son and took care of his hygiene and feeds while wishing that Maya was here. He noticed the pity looks from the other mother's and the staff which made him angrier since he believed he did not deserve sympathy.

'How is he doing Ray?'

'He is so tiny,I wish I could hold him but ....'

He shrugged his shoulders since he found himself choking up at the thought of his little boy in that incubator with all those cables attached to him. His mother-in-law pulled him in for a hug while his mother kissed her teeth and looked away not even wanting to acknowledge his presence. Kelly and Amadeo had left after the doctor spoke to the family and promised Maya's mom that they would come later that day.

' Not that I condone what you did but I would like your side of your story.'

Raymond let out a deep breath.

'Ever since we got married and we're waiting on getting a house,we decided it was best that our mail be delivered at the offices. Anyway I got mail from our medical aid and I opened it to find it was a bill for Maya and it was from an abortion clinic. I went over to her house to talk to her. I was hurt and the minute I saw her I just lost it. She was wearing something black,I did not pay much attention to her physique. I just went at her. This is the dumbest thing I have ever done.'

Elizabeth just sighed speechless,she was afraid to say anything since it was a sensitive subject. She could see how much he regretted his actions and could not run it in further. While his mother looked at her son with no emotion, she felt no pity for him.
