' Hey? How long have you been home and where's Star?'

Ivan asked when he got home to find Sunny alone in their bedroom.

' She's at her friends down the street. I've been home since twelve. Left work early, wasn't feeling too good.'

' What's wrong? Is the baby fine? Are you fine?'

He asked his voice filled with concern. Sunny sat up.

' We're fine just had nausea and felt a bit dizzy so Roxy thought it best I came home.'

Sunny was ready to pop any day now but she still suffered from nausea and vomiting. At first they were worried but the doctor assured them that it was normal and it might even continue after the pregnancy.

' Can we talk?'

She asked after it became awkwardly quiet between them. Ivan sat on her dressers chair and faced her.

' After Star turned one I got involved with this guy. At first everything was great between the two of us and he met Star and they had a great relationship but all that changed after eight months in the relationship he started being aggressive and showed some violent behaviour. He would push me or grab on me and twist my arm or hand during an argumentative or if something angered him. The girls would see the bruises on me and I would cover up for him and try to cover those that I could with makeup. He would hurt me then apologise with gifts and flowers the next day and I would forgive him....'

Ivan stood up and pushed the chair so hard it hit the wall and broke. Sunny continued though tears stung her eyes.

' He then forbade me from seeing Gabby and them since they had confronted him about my bruises. The beatings got worse after that to the point I couldn't go to work on some days. He beat me up so bad one say, I couldn't take care of my child. By the grace of God Roxy and Gabby cane to check up on me and found me in my own pool of blood with Bella crying next to me. She was so confused and just wanted her mommy. Gabby and Byron took me to hospital while Roxy and Aalam took care of Bella in my absence. I was in hospital for a week and stayed with Gabby for almost month. Donald was caught and arrested and is currently serving time for hurting me. Bella fears Donald because she witnessed it all that day and when she tried to help Me,He pushed her into a wall. Luckily she didn't not get hurt but she still had nightmares until she was four. It took years of therapy for her to leave my side.'

Ivan was shocked to hear about her being a victim of domestic violence. He always thought Sunny was the girl who would not stand for such. Be grabbed her by her shoulders and pulled her into his chest as she cried out.

' I hate talking about him as I'm reminded again of how bad of a mother I was. I put my daughter through all of that trauma. '

' You're not a bad mother. We all make mistakes, What matters is that we learn from them. I also should have never left you guys. Why didn't you call me?'

' We weren't talking at the time and I trued to call you once after I got out if hospital but some girl answered and said you were busy. So I  never called again.'
