AALAM & ROXY...
Aalam gently pushed Roxy off of him and laid her into her pillow before standing up and heading to the restroom. He did not want to wake her up since she had not been getting much sleep since they got back home from the hospital due to morning sickness. She had her morning sickness late at night, she could not stomach anything and had not been eating well.
'Hold your horses!..'
Aalam practically ran to the front door while trying to slip in his house shoes and pyjama pants, almost tripping as his foot got temporaly stuck in the leg of his pants. He did not want whoever was repeatedly pressing on his doorbell to wake Roxy up.
' Do you really have to press the doorbell that hard.'
' Hello to you too baby brother'
His brother walked in punching him in the shoulder. His mother walked in right after, giving her youngest a hug.
' Hey baby,sorry for your brother's behaviour'
Aalam sighed when he saw his brother open his bedroom door. He jogged upstairs to stop him as Roxy was still asleep and nude in their bed.
'Asher!'
Their mother scolded as they began figthing over the bedroom door knob. Aalam pushed his brother away from the door as he tried to maneuver his way behind him.
'I just want to check on my baby. What's your problem dude.'
He smiled seeing how agitated his brother was. Ever since they were young Asher and their older brother liked to torment his little brother,to toughen him up. They would tell him.
'Leave your brother alone,we did not come here for that.'
His mother scolded
'How is my daughter inlaw?'
His mother asked as she looked for something to cook. Aalam put his head in his hands and rubbed down his face as his brother gave his shoulder a squeeze in comfort.
'She's not doing well mom.... I am not doing well. I do not know what to do.. we have been trying for so long to have a second child and finally it happens,it's either her or the baby. Call me selfish but I am not willing to lose Roxy. She is my life,I can't live without her.'
His mother pulled him into a hug.
' I wish I could tell you that everything is going to be alright....'
She trailed off not knowing what to do or say. Aalam silently cried wiping the tears with his hands.
'Grammy?'
His daughter walked into the kitchen, rubbing her eyes. His mother took the bowl of cereal she had made her granddaughter and went to sit with her in the dining area, while she ate and they chatted.
'What does Roxy want to do?'
Asher sat on the kitchen island with his breakfast and began eating. Aalam pushed his plate away as he did not have an appetite and Asher looked at him brother with concern.
' She wants to have the baby and that means stopping the chemo and her stopping the chemo means that the cancer worsens. I don't understand why this is happening to us. I might lose her,I feel like I am being punished for all the girls I dogged before I met her. She's my world.'
'I don't know much about God but I do not think He would punish you for that. From what I know He is not vindictive.'
Asher tried to comfort his little brother as Roxanne stood outside the kitchen door, listening to their conversation. This is the most he had said since she told him about her cancer.
