Tyler and Josh swore they were just friends. Best friends, but just friends.
They were lying down in bed, shirtless, facing one another. Josh was smiling at his beautiful best friend, his fingers running through Tyler's hand, caressing his back.
Tyler was blushing as he looked at Josh, melting into his touch.
"Can I tell you something?" Josh asked quietly.
Tyler nodded. "Anything."
"I love you."
"I love you too," Tyler replied.
"No, Tyler, like... I really, really love you," Josh said. "More than just friends. I-I really want you to be mine..."
"Y-you like... l-love me, love me?"
Josh nodded. "I always have, Tyler. I've loved you since we were nine. And I'm even more in love with you right years later."
"I-I love you too, Josh!" Tyler exclaimed, wrapping his arms around Josh's neck.
"L-like, l-love me, love me?" Josh asked.
"Yes! Yes, Josh, oh my goodness, Joshua, I'm so in love with you," Tyler said, his forehead and nose pressed against Josh's.
Josh was in complete shock, as was Tyler. They looked each other in the eyes and bursted into tears, giggling and hugging and kissing.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Tyler sniffled as he gently held Josh's cheek, lying in his arms.
"I didn't think you loved me back!" Josh giggled as he sniffled, hugging Tyler's waist tightly.
"Let's get married," Tyler said.
"Baby, we're 17," Josh chuckled. "But in the future, in the near future, I will marry you."
Tyler smiled shyly and nodded. "I-I'm gonna call my mom."
"Why do you need to call your mom?"
"B-because she's the one I-I've been talking to about l-liking you all these years," Tyler confessed.
"Aww, baby!!!" Josh exclaimed. "That's so sweet!!!"
Tyler blushed and smiled shyly, grabbing his phone and sitting in Josh's lap as he called his mom.
"Hello?" Kelly asked.
"H-hi mom," Tyler smiled.
"Hi, Mrs. Joseph," Josh grinned.
"Oh, is that Josh?? Hi, Josh!!" Jelly exclaimed.
"Y-yeah," Tyler said. "S-so um... I-I have some exciting news."
"Really??" Kelly asked excitedly. "What is it??"
"J-Josh l-likes me," Tyler said with a smile, sniffling as he tackled Josh in a hug.
"Frick yeah I do," Josh giggled as he squeezed Tyler tightly, kissing behind his ear as he held him.
"Awww, Tyler!!! I told you he would!!!!" Kelly exclaimed. "Are you two like, a thing now???"
"We're gonna get married!" Tyler exclaimed excitedly.
"In a few years, honey," Josh chuckled.
"I'm so happy for you two!!!" Kelly exclaimed. "Make sure you use protection!!"
Tyler blushed deeply, Josh laughing. "When the time comes, we will," Josh chuckled.
And so the boys began their relationship romantically, and they'd never been happier.
