I sighed and turned my phone completely off. It's constant ringing had been driving me completely mental. I turned back to the mirror, tied my hair into a messy topknot and started towards the hotel lobby.

"Hey, guys." I zipped up my jacket as everyone whipped around.

"Kirst, I thought that you were dead." Scott laughed and threw his arms around me.

"Sorry, I turned my phone off, to...uh...preserve battery." I lied.

Everyone nodded in response. After a few minutes of chatter, we decided on having dinner at an Italian place that was a long drive from our hotel, but none of us really minded. Esther offered to drive. I sat in between Avi and Scott, Kevin in the passenger's seat, and Mitch sat in the third row seat of our rental car.

"Tired, Kirstie?" Avi asked me, giving my hand a gentle squeeze so that I'd snap out of my zoned out state.

"Yeah, a little." I shrugged.

"Well, you can lay your head down for a moment. We still have a while left of the ride."

"Thanks." I laid my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes. He pressed a light kiss to my forehead and pulled me closer to him. I was already half asleep, so I couldn't tell, but Avi gasped when he pulled me closer. He pulled out his phone to send a text to Scott; he didn't want to talk to Scott because he didn't want to wake me.

Avi: You weren't kidding.

Scott: about what?

Avi: Stop texting in all lowercase, you know how I hate that.

Avi saw Scott chuckle at the message.

Scott: Fine, but what was I not kidding about?

Avi: Kirstie.

Scott looked over at the bass with genuine concern. His gaze dropped to me after a second. Scott sighed and shook his head, "Let her sleep for now." He mouthed, and Avi nodded.

Scott: We can talk about it with everyone later.

Avi nodded at this too. He sighed and grabbed my hand as the car continued on.

"Kirst, we're here." Avi whispered and shook me gently.

I slowly opened my eyes and noticed that we were in the parking lot, but it was just Avi and I in the car. "Where is everyone?"

"They're inside, there was like a forty five minute wait that we decided to wait out, but I stayed here and let you keep sleeping. You seemed pretty beat."

"Thanks." I smiled and yawned, stretching my arms. "We should probably get inside."

Avi nodded and led me inside, the little buzzer to alarm us that we had a table went off right as we got inside. The hostess lead us to our table and we all sat down. I looked at the menu and decided on a half salad. I knew portions at Italian places were always a lot more than you bargained for.

We all got our plates after what felt like forever. Plates of pastas and breads, and even this really pretty dessert that Mitch ordered because it was "aesthetically pleasing", then there was me and my salad, which was fine because I liked salads.
