Olaf and Pascal barked like crazy as another huge clap of thunder rattled the apartment. Meanwhile, Kirstie was staring right back at Scott.
"Kirstin, this is serious, I need you to talk to me." Scott said, quietly.
"Why aren't you answering me?!"
"Why do you care so much?" Kirstie asked in a whisper.
"Because this doesn't matter anymore!"
"Because this isn't okay, Kirstie. He shouldn't be doing this all the time." Scott explained.
"If you're meaning to say that this relationship isn't what matters anymore..."
Kirstie just shrugged, glancing out the window as a bolt of lightning cracked across the sky. She'd always hated storms. "You said he left..."
"That's exactly what I'm saying!"
"...where'd he go off too?" Scott asked. He was tempted to turn her chin to force her to face him, but he didn't. Avi always did that.
"Maybe it is time for me to leave."
"Doesn't matter." Kirstie turned her attention over from the window to her dogs, who were standing gaurd at the door, ready to attack any intruder, in this case, that invisible intruder was thunder claps and lightning.
"Maybe you should..."
"Why do you keep saying that?!" Scott raised his voice. "It does matter!"
"...Wait!"
"Fine, I'll talk." Kirstie mumbled.
"What? What could you possibly want?"
"Perfect." Scott said, nodding slowly. "What happened?"
"Do you even love me?"
"Well, we got into a fight. Over something really stupid, and as he was about to leave, I asked him a question..."
"I don't know."
"...and he gave me an answer I didn't necessarily like."
