"What are you pacing for, Scott?" Kirstie asked, taking a sip from her water bottle as she approached her taller friend. "We're filming today, you'll have so much fun!"

"Did you not get the text?" Scott asked, panicked.

"No. What text?" Kirstie asked.

"The one from Matt. He quit." Scott stated.

Kirstie's face twisted in confusion. "What do you mean he quit? Matt didn't quit."

"Yes, he did!" Scott fired back.

"Woah, no need to get fiesty. Just show me this text." Kirstie calmly told Scott. Scott fumbled around in his jacket pocket before pulling out his phone. Kirstie's eyes scanned over the text.

Matt: Scott, I don't know if word has gotten around to you or the rest of the group, but I'm having to step back from Pentatonix. I was given a job offer that was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm sorry for the short notice with the new album and all. Best wishes to you all.

"So...he did quit, huh?" Kirstie mumbled.

"Yeah..." Scott took his phone back, after running his other hand up the back of his head.

"Well, what are we going to do?" Kirstie asked. "We can't cancel the shoot! Do you realize how much money--"

"I know, Kirst, I know, just...we'll think of something. I'd go get ready for the shoot, get your makeup on and whatever else, we can figure it out as we go." Scott said.

"Okay, good plan."

Kirstie was in the middle of blending out her silvery, glitter eyeshadow for the Christmas scenes of the music video. "Come in!" She called as she heard a knock on the door.

"Hey, Love. Cabinet meeting on set." Esther told her. Pentatonix had started calling all of their creative and important meetings "cabinet meetings" after the two iconic scenes from the Broadway musical, Hamilton.

"Alright, I'll be out in two seconds." Kirstie said, putting her brushes away before leaving her dressing room. Kirstie made her way to set for the cabinet meeting, seeing everyone all dolled and "buttoned up" (as she called it) for the Christmas scenes.

"So, I'm assuming you've all heard the news." Esther began. All four members of Pentatonix's eyes fell to their laps. "Right. Well I've been on the phone with some of our callback favorites in the area, and I'm trying to see if we can get them down here and maybe film this thing tomorrow. But for now, just chill out, we'll call in a pizza, and maybe just film your singular scenes today, yeah?"

"Alright." Everyone said somewhat simultaneously. The band retreated back to their rooms in anxious silence.

Kirstie sat, curled up on the chair in her dressing room, scrolling through her socials, trying to distract herself from this situation. They didn't work this hard for this to happen. The two slices of pizza she didn't have the appetite to touch had gone cold beside her. "Come in." She called in a monotone voice, not really caring who saw her like this at this point.

"Hey, I heard you needed a new bass?" An all too familiar voice filled her dressing room.
