Warning: Short (but sweet)
Kirstie exhaled loudly, slipping a hoodie on over her tank top as she walked into the wings, from her dressing room. The hoodie and running shorts was a "total look" in Mitch's opinion. Kirstie met Avi in the wings, and sat down beside him. She watched as the other performers rehearsed. They were rehearsing for a huge performance with a bunch of A Capella groups for the Oscars thus year. Kirstie instinctively laid her head on Avi's shoulder, and Avi cuddled her closer to him. "You tired there, Love?" He asked in a whisper, not to disturb the dancers and singers on the stage.
"A little." Kirstie whispered, yawning and burying her hands into her sleeves.
"You're really cute when you're tired, did you know that?" Avi asked.
"Oh, shut up!" Kirstie laughed back.
"No, really you are."
"Okay, Av." Kirstie playfully rolled her eyes. Rehearsals went on, did things go wrong? Yes, but they were resolved. It was nearing almost midnight when rehearsal wrapped, and the performers started filing from the theater, just to go back the next morning for six o'clock. Sleep was scarce these days, but none of them really minded, they'd do whatever it took to keep doing what they loved every day.
Avi looked over as he was driving to see Kirstie asleep against the glass of the window. He smiled to himself at the calmness that was painted over her features. Once they returned home, Avi made sure to stay quiet. He picked Kirstie up, bridal style, and brought her inside, being sure not to wake her. He laid her down on the bed and went back outside to go retrieve their belongings from the car. Once he got back, Kirstie was still laying down, but her eyes slowly started to open when Avi opened the door. "Shh, Love, it's just me. Go back to sleep." Avi whispered.
"Can't sleep without you." Kirstie replied, in the same whisper.
Avi chuckled gently. "You don't have to worry, then." He climbed into the bed beside Kirstie, gently placing his arm around her waist. "Goodnight, Love."
"Wait." She whispered. Kirstie turned over and laid into Avi's chest, she could hear his heartbeat. "Now goodnight." Avi smiled gently to himself as he kissed her forehead. This just proved his point, Kirstie was the absolute cutest when she was sleepy.
