Is it chill that you're in my head?
Because I know that it is delicate.
-Taylor SwiftKirstie had been doing two things, explicitly, for the last day and a half. One of those things was crying. She'd fall asleep crying, and wake up crying. The other thing she had been doing was praying. She prayed that Avi hadn't found out yet, but then again, how could he not have?
Kirstie paced her apartment, the corner of her bottom lip collected between her teeth as she twisted her ring around her finger. Any second now, Avi was going to walk through that door, and this would be the first time they'd seen each other since everything happened. Kirstie's heart started racing when she heard the door open.
"Come here." Avi stated, simply walking up to Kirstie and pulling her into his chest. This did nothing, but make Kirstie start crying again.
"How did this happen?" Kirstie cried into the sleeve of Avi's leather jacket.
"I think you know how it happened." Avi admitted. He felt Kirstie sigh in his arms.
"Well, what are we going to do?" Kirstie asked, lifting her head and drying her tears. Avi's eyes scanned around the room, as if the walls could tell him the best words to use. "Avi..." Kirstie cut off his train of thought. "I don't think we should continue this."
"Continue what?" Avi's eyes immediately went to his girlfriend's. His hands came to either forearm, his thumb running a line up and down her left arm. "No. No, Kirstin, you can't mean what I think you mean." He shook his head, but Kirstie nodded. "You're trying to break up with me?" Avi asked for more clarification. Kirstie's eyes fell to her feet.
"Avi, I just don't think that this is a good id--"
"I won't let you. Because what does doing that do? That proves everyone of those reporters right. Yes, we slipped up. Yes, this is a bit of a dilemma, but we can get through it. Why would we throw away something that is this good?" Avi asked.
Kirstie shook her head. "Avi, sneaking around terrifies me. I haven't left this house since the headline dropped, and it's just too risky in this industry."
"It's not risky. It's just..." Avi searched once more for the right words. "It's just delicate."
