A oneshot based on a prompt I sent to Roanseal3 yesterday. She might write the same prompt, but I felt inspired after I sent it! Hope you enjoy! Xx

Kirstie anxiously wrung her hands together as she paced the cold tile in her apartment. The thought crossed her mind that maybe she should put socks on, therefore, she isn't as cold, but she didn't feel like it. She could only focus on what she was about to say to her four best friends.

Kirstie played the words she wanted to say through her head on repeat. Every case scenario, both worst and greatest, entered her thoughts.

Kirstie jumped immediately when she heard the doorbell ring, and all of a sudden, all the members of Pentatonix were sitting in various chairs and on couches in Kirstie's apartment.

"Hey, all." Kirstie started, initiating the meeting she called on for that morning. All of her bandmates greeted her back. "Listen, I called this meeting on this morning, because I have some news for you guys."

Mitch sat up, excited.  "Spill, sis!" He exclaimed.

"Alright, alright, breathe." Kirstie laughed, the edge slightly coming off of her anxiety, seeing how happy her friends were for her. "Um...I got a role in a Broadway show. A professional one. It's called Kinky Boots." Kirstie announced.

She looked up from her lap to the eyes of her friends. Her initial anxiety returned when she saw the angry and upset looks on the faces of her bandmates.

"When does the show start?" Kevin asked.

"I have first rehearsals and put-ins tomorrow." She told them.

"Congratulations, Kirst. I know this is something you've always wanted." Kevin continued, gently rubbing Kirstie's shoulder. Still, there was something in the tone of his voice that made it seem like he was slightly disappointed.

"What does this mean for Pentatonix?" Scott asked the question that everyone in the room was wondering.

Kirstie cleared her throat, trying to force the lump in her throat away. "Um, it means that I'll have to step away for a while." Kirstie inhaled sharply, trying to avoid looking at Scott. "My run in the show lasts for six months, unless the run at the theater gets extended."

Scott ran a hand up the back of his head. "So you're ditching us?!" He exclaimed.

Kirstie gasped. "I'm not ditching anyone! I got an amazing opportunity, how could I pass it up? Broadway is something I've always wanted, Scott! You've known that it's been my dream since highschool!"

"Well you're obviously leaving this group for six months, and with the album coming out!" Mitch added.

"Guys." Kevin tried to calm the two, but they wouldn't stop.

The agrument within the band continued to escalate until it reached the point that everyone, except for Avi, left Kirstie's apartment with the slam of her door.

"A-Avi?" Kirstie stuttered. Tears pricked her eyes as she turned to face her boyfriend, who had been sitting quite silently the entire time. She jumped slightly when she heard him sniffle. Kirstie watched as Avi lowered his beanie down over his face.

"I don't want you to leave." He admitted, taking the fabric away from his face and throwing the beanie aside.

"Sweetheart..." Kirstie sighed, kneeling before him. "I'm not leaving forever."

"That's how you made it seem."

Kirstie frowned. "No, that's how everyone else made it seem. They completely overreacted. My run only lasts for six months."

"Yeah, unless it gets extended, like you said. And of course it will, because you're amazing, and--" Avi ranted, standing up from the sofa he was sitting on. He put his beanie back on his head.

"Avi, I'm going to try to balance the two, though." Kirstie told him, interrupting his rant.

Avi spun around to face her. "Huh?"

"I'm going to try my best to do both B'way and Pentatonix." Kirstie explained further.

"No." Avi shook his head, seemingly deciding immediately for her. "That'll kill your voice! One or the other, Kirstin!"

"Now you sound like everyone else." Kirstie mumbled.

"I just want you safe!" Avi yelled, forcing the room to fall silent. "And I don't want you to leave." He finished at more of a normal tone, after a moment of awkward silence.

"I said I wouldn't be leaving forever." Kirstie stated once more.

"But what if you fall in love with it? You've said your whole life that Broadway is what you have dreamed of, and what if now that you get a taste of it--"

"You think I'll start getting more Broadway gigs?"

"Of course!" Avi continued. "You're an amazing performer, how couldn't you?"

"Avi, Pentatonix is my family, there is no way I would ever leave you guys. Okay, sure, if I hypothetically get another Broadway offer, I'm probably going to take it. But I am going to balance the two, alright?"

Avi thought for a moment. "Are you sure that's safe? Health wise, I'm talking."

"We'll find out, huh?" Kirstie chuckled gently. "But we're going to balance it."

"Yeah," Avi finally started to accept this. "Balance."
