Some heads up for you: Soap opera levels of drama in this one.
P.S. Who's ever played Pillars (or maybe you know it as Lifeline?), because this is based off of one of the scenes I did! Haha, enjoy!
"This is your fault!" Kirstie yelled, pointing her finger at her two friends in front of her.
"Hold on, hold on, hold on," Scott waved his hands. "How is this our fault?!"
"You're the ones who were like, "yeah, a few drinks won't hurt, spite Bram, come on, it'll be fine."" Kirstie rolled her eyes.
"Well, you didn't have to listen to us!" Mitch fired back. Kirstie sighed, it was true, and now she was stuck here. Mitch and Scott both made their way over to the dark haired girl.
"You can't run away from this, Kit." Scott told her, rubbing her back as hot tears started rolling down her cheeks.
"Scott's right. You've got to tell him." Mitch looked Kirstie right in the eye.
"But I feel so gross." Kirstie mumbled.
"I know, Kit, but it doesn't change the matter. He's going to find out sooner or later. And better straight from you than from word of mouth." Scott explained.
~~~~~
Kirstie took a deep breath as she walked into her apartment. Her hands were clammy, and she felt sick to her stomach. "H-Hey, I'm back." She called, trying to swallow her stutter, but it didn't really work.
"Kirstin..." Avi came around the corner into the living area. "What's this about?" He held up the pregnancy test that Kirstie accidentally left right ontop of her dresser. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? When did you find out?" Avi's face broke out into broad sunshine, as he wrapped Kirstie up in a hug. "What's wrong?" He asked as the hug was broken apart, and her tears started back up again.
"A-Avi, there's something I have to tell you." Kirstie mumbled.
"Anything, Love, what's going on?" Avi backed up a bit more to give her some breathing room.
"This baby isn't...isn't yours." Her eyes dropped down to her hands.
"What?" Avi's head snapped up. "What do you mean?" Avi let go of her hands.
"What else could I mean, Avi?" Kirstie whispered, not looking up.
"You're kidding me, Kirstin." Avi growled, roughly lifting Kirstie's chin up. "Tell me that you're lying."
"Avi, I can't. I'm sor--" Kirstie began, but stopped when Avi's hand came to her cheek, sending a stinging sensation through her whole body. Her eyes welled with tears Kirstie didn't think she had left to cry, as she fell back onto the couch. The side of her face he struck started to heat up and sting an angry red. Immediately after he did what he did, Avi looked down at his palm.
What had he just done?
"Kirstin," Avi dropped to his knees in front of where Kirstie was sitting. "I am so, so sorry, I don't know what came over me, I--"
Kirstie tried to back away from Avi as he came closer to her, but the back of the couch got in the way. Her shaky breaths weren't helping the matter, but something in her gut told her to leave. So she did. She ignored Avi calling after her. She just ran.
~~~~~
"He hit me!" Kirstie sobbed as Mitch opened the door to their apartment. Mitch's eyes widened as he gently pulled Kirstie inside.
"Shh, shh, Kit, I won't hurt you. I won't hurt you." Mitch coaxed as he took Kirstie's shaking hand from her cheek. Right across the side of her face was the perfect handprint she had been trying to hide. "S-Scott?" Mitch called, not letting go of Kirstie's hand. "Could you grab an ice pack from the freezer?" Mitch's eyes stayed glued on Kirstie's face.
"Yeah, here you go. What's wrong?" Scott's voice trailed off when he saw Kirstin standing in the middle of their apartment. "Oh, my God, what happened?" Scott basically jumped over to where Mitch and Kirstie were. "Here, here, sit down, oh my goodness." Scott gently pressed the ice to Kirstie's cheek, carefully leading her to the sofa she started the day on.
"I-I told him, and he...he hit me!" Kirstie exclaimed before her whole body started to shake in sobs.
"You're okay, you're okay." Mitch coaxed once more as Scott stood up.
"I'll kill him!" Scott shouted. "He's dead!"
"Stop, Scott. Calm yourself down. Don't go and kill anyone just yet." Mitch told his friend. And as almost as if on a cue, Avi Kaplan showed up at the apartment door. Right as he walked in, Kirstie went and hid behind Mitch, protectively wrapping her arms across her stomach.
It didn't take Scott more than five seconds to grip onto Avi's arm and pull him into another room. "What do you think you're doing, hitting Kirstie?!" He yelled.
"Scott, stop, I feel terribly, I don't know what came over me, I just. I need help." Avi pleaded.
"Why should I help you? I'm not the one who hit his pregnant girlfriend." Scott sassed.
"You don't even have a girlfriend to begin with!" Avi fired back.
"And are my relationships relevant now? No! You're the one who hit Kirstie. End of story, and "sorry" won't fix it!" Scott yelled once more, half tempted to hit Avi right back.
"What do I do? I mean, Scott, she cheated on me, she--" Avi started, but Scott stopped him.
"Yes, she was drunk, Avi, but she didn't cheat on you." Scott told a now very confused Avi. "Mitch and I would've saved her, but we were a bit past drunk as well." Scott looked down, ashamed.
"So...you're saying some disgusting man at a party three weeks ago..." Avi drew his sentence out, and Scott nodded. Avi looked behind himself, knowing Kirstie was right on the other side of that wall. He slowly turned the corner, watching as Kirstie sobbed over Mitch's shoulder.
"I-I don't w-want this baby!" She cried. "It's horrible to say, but--"
"I know...I know." Mitch whispered, rubbing her back. "It'll be okay, I promise. I promise."
"Kirstin?" Avi finally spoke up. Kirstie lifted her head off of Mitch's shoulder, and turned around in fear. Avi slowly approached the girl and knelt to her level.
"No!" She shrieked.
"Kirstin, I won't hurt you, I promise. Scott told me what happened, and I'm sorry I didn't listen to you. I should've heard the whole story, and I didn't. It's my fault. I know "sorry" won't fix it, but know I am incredibly sorry. I don't know what came over me, but if you want me to leave, I understand." Avi said, looking down at Kirstie's hands.
"I don't know..." She whispered. "I don't know, I don't know, I don't know!" Kirstie's voice got louder with every repeat, and she jumped off of the couch, and ran to the bathroom. She locked the door and sat on the tile floor. Her sobs could be heard, clear as day, from the other side of the wall. Avi reached for the doorknob, but pulled away.
"She's scared of me." He mumbled. Avi turned all the way back around to Scott and Mitch. "Take care of her here tonight, for me, please. Make sure she doesn't do anything destructive. Please, I can't see her like this, please." Avi begged.
Scott and Mitch exchanged a glance, then nodded. "Alright. But get a hotel, and stay there, figure out whatever is wrong with you before you come back. We'll keep her safe." Scott told Avi. And that was exactly the plan.

A/N: During this scene in Pillars, I actually got hit. It was supposed to be a stage fighting stunt, but your girl stood a bit too close...😂😂
