Actress AU in Kirstie's POV

We were never going to pursue it. Heck, it wasn't even there. Not truthfully, that is. We can fake winks, we can fake smirks, and we can fake cute little chuckles, we can fake romance.

It's all just part of the job. You're basically forced to be someone totally different for a couple months, and let me tell you, it is the best feeling of your life. But back to my point. You can fake all this stuff.

I've never felt sparks fly during a kiss on my lips at the end of a scene where one character confesses their love for the other. I've never felt the temperature of the room just rise millions of degrees when someone has their hands on my waist during a party scene, and we're dancing. I've never fallen head-over-heels when I see somebody wink across the room to me while they deliver a few lines to their one friend that is just there for comic relief. I've never felt any of the emotion said to go along with that situation while on the Silver Screen, even though you may think I have, because, like mentioned, that's part of the job.

It's all about selling the emotion, selling the storyline, becoming your character for the audience. But, if you get down to the basics, it's all fake, it's all manufactured.

That's why they are called showmances.

A/N: Sorry it's so short, writer's block is killing me.

P.S. - I'm thinking about making my excerpt "Off Broadway" into a Kavi story, so...thoughts on that idea? (Full excerpt in Excerpts From Stories I'll Never Write if you want to see it, but if you want to see it as a Kavi, then maybe don't read it now...?)

P.S. #2 -  in case you want to see it as a Kavi, here's the plot line. All rights to original creator

So, that's all. I hope you all liked this one!
