AW THESE ENGAGED CUTIES 😍

"Kev?" Leigh asked quietly. She opened the door from their shared bedroom, walking into the living room.

Leigh had draped a blanket over her shoulders, finding that the hallway and other rooms beside the bedroom were freezing to her skin that had been warmed up under all the blankets.

She frowned at the sight of her fiancee typing madly away at his computer, leaning forward every now and again to look at something on his screen a little closer. He had dark bags under his eyes, and the blue light of his laptop screen showed that his eyes were tired and bloodshot.

"Kevin? Sweetheart?" Leigh asked once more.

Kevin simply shifted his glance from his screen to his fiancee for a split second. "When'd you wake up?" He asked, his voice was monotone.

Leigh sighed. "When I realized you never came to bed."

Kevin only mumbled something indistinct in response.

She walked closer to him and saw that Kevin's lips were terribly chapped, and that his fingers seemed cramped in their bent, typing position. Leigh sat beside Kevin on the couch, taking the blanket from her shoulders and wrapping it around his.

"I take it you haven't moved fron this spot?" Leigh questioned.

Kevin responded once more with a mumbled sentence. His exhaustion was really coming through in his speech.

"You've gotta speak up, Love." Leigh rubbed his forearm.

Kevin set his laptop onto the nearby coffee table, turning his full attention to the woman he loves. "No, I've just been here."

Leigh frowned. "You skipped dinner tonight. Have you eaten anything?"

Kevin anxiously ran his hands over his jean covered legs. The heat from where his laptop rested on his thighs still remained, making the denim on his thighs warm to the touch. "No."

"Did you at least get a glass of water or something?"

Kevin moved his baseball cap from his head, to over his face, then he eventually just knocked it to the floor.

"I'll take that as a no?"

Kevin shook his head.

"Oh, Kev." Leigh spoke softly. "Don't tell me you've been working on the album."

"It's gotta be perfect." Kevin shook his head. "If these songs aren't good, everyone is going to be disappointed."

"Kevin, everything you do is perfect." She gently kissed his forehead. "You're not going to disappoint anyone."

Kevin lowered his head, running his hand up the back of his neck. He licked his dry lips, swallowing hard as tears filled his eyes.

"I know you have such a passion for what you do, but that doesn't mean you have to lose all regards for basic selfcare." She coaxed.

A few tears slipped past Kevin's dark eyelashes. "This is more important."

Leigh shook her head. "You taking care of yourself will always be more important than an album. Nobody in the band will be disappointed in you." She gently titled Kevin's chin upwards. She took a moment and dried the tears that rested on his cheeks. "Will you please come back to bed?"

Kevin frowned a more of an angry frown, rather than a sad frown. He always got like this under pressure. "No."

"Kev, please. Look at yourself, you're exhausted." Leigh almost begged Kevin.

"Leigh, I love you, but please, you have to understand that I have to work." Kevin ran his hands over his face.

"You have to understand that what you're doing right now is not healthy! It's just like you're bullying yourself."

Kevin remained silent, the only sound filling the room was the nearby clock ticking on the wall. Kevin groaned as his stomach grumbled, hunger pains shooting through his abdomen.

"Kevin, listen to your body. You're not taking proper care of yourself."

"I'm fine, Leigh. Please, go back to sleep. You don't need to worry about me." Kevin reassured her.

Leigh shook her head. "I'm not leaving this couch until you go to back bed with me."

"I'm not going back to bed until I finish these lyrics." Kevin returned back. He snipped at her, though he truly didn't mean to.

She was about done with Kevin's behavior. "Yes you are, Kevin. You're not going to be able to work well tomorrow if you don't relax now."

"I'm just fine!" Kevin shouted, raising his voice.

Leigh jumped slightly at this. She knew Kevin was under a lot of pressure at the moment, but she had never seen him get this mad at her.

"Fine." Leigh whispered. She slowly walked back to the bedroom. She climbed under the covers, yet she laid wide awake.

"Hon?" Kevin whispered, opening the door. The door squeaked open, making Leigh look over. "I'm sorry." He spoke, laying down beside his fiancee. Kevin took this opportunity to snuggle her close. Though Leigh momentarily refused it, she eventually settled into his gentle hold on her.

"Did you eat something?" Leigh whispered.

"I had one of those cookies you made."

She gently rolled her eyes. "I wish you'd have something more substantial." She mumbled. "You didn't have dinner."

"I'll be okay." Kevin whispered. "I should've listened to you."

"Just get some rest now. You need it." Leigh turned to her other side, gently kissing the bridge of his nose.
