A girl and a boy, both living in Arlington, Texas. Both pacing around their rooms, waiting for call backs and grades to come in.
They are Kirstin Maldonado and Avriel Kaplan. (But they prefer if you call them Kirstie and Avi).

Our story starts with these two children. Probably more worried than a usual child should be, but these are not your usual children.
Wait, I've never formally introduced myself. I'm not too big on the whole first name basis thing. I'm a bit more poetic than that.
So let's just say I'm the reason people have concrete stars with their name on them.
