CHAPTER 43

Her cousin and friends were worried that time. She doesn't went home that night and she's nowhere to be found. I was worried as fuck. But then Devine, Arki's girl said that maybe she's in their province. She don't have any place to go. And that didn't make me calm. I will not calm without my own eyes seeing her fine.

And to make sure of that, nagpunta kami sa probinsya nila. May plano na talaga si Devine na sundan siya pero hindi ito pinayagan ni Arki na mag-isa. I told Arki that I'm coming with them. He gave me a questioning look but I cannot give him an answer. I just told him I'm bored and we don't have anything to do in our school because it's foundation week. I even dragged Baylee and Deoffy to cover up my reason. Baylee and Deoffy were cool with that because they were also interested about provinces. Unlike Jack, Adi and Copper. They rather be in parties than to go in a boring place like that.

I just have to make sure that she's there. At hindi naman ako mapakali nang mapunta na kami sa kanila.

I even broke up with Sunny. She wanted me to be there on the Foundation week of our school. But I resist and she's mad. Hindi ako ang tipo ng lalaking nanunuyo. I just found my self driving. Mas pinili ko pa rin ang puntahan siya.

Puro bukid ang makikita at puro tunog lang ng mga hayop ang nadidinig aside from their neighborhood. Pagod ako sa byahe at puyat, but I still chose to wait for her. I met her aunts and grandmother, they said she's here and I'm relieved.

She's in their yard at the back of their house. Nagpunta kami sa likod ng bahay nila. At iniisip ko palang na dito siya lumaki ay lubos na akong naku-kuryoso. I wonder how does she grew up here? Where is her parents and how it feels to live here?

Marami silang alagang hayop. Naaaliw si Deoffy at Baylee dahil iyan naman ang ipinunta nila dito. To see and feel new environment. Malamig ang simoy ng hangin. Tama nga sila. When it comes to nature, it's better to live in a place like this.

I heard Devine younger sister saying her name. Then, there she is. I saw her na naglalakad sa gitna ng bukid. Naglapitan ang mga kaibigan niya sa kaniya.

I don't know exactly what I felt when I saw her. All I can still remember are, she's wearing a white dress and her hair is blowing by the cold wind that time. May taban siyang tali na kunektado sa ulo ng kambing...And there's a man standing beside her.

Nagtiim bagang ako at tinanaw ang kaniyang nakakapanibagong hitsura.

They walked towards us. Nagulat siya nang makita kami. Akala niya siguro ay ang mga kaibigan lang niya ang sumadya rito. Her aunt and grandma teased the boy beside her. Seems like they were really close, huh?

We ate dinner with their family...and of course, that boy. She's not in the dining. I thought she's in their house with her momma or even with his dad. Pero nang ipinatawag na siya ng Lola niya sa nakababatang kapatid ni Devine ay doon na ako nagtaka. She's living with her grandma.

Na-confirm ko iyon nang makakwentuhan namin ang kaniyang Lola. Our plan was to go home that day too. But elders didn't let us. It's too late to drive from there to Manila. Arki was so fucking gay that time. Napaisip nga ako kung totoo na rin ba ang nararamdaman niya sa girlfriend niya? She's also his longest time girlfriend. And I bet, he'll never do an effort like this if he's not frigging serious.

Her grandma and titas told us things about them. Devine and her. They even told us how she made her classmates cried before.

One of a kind, girl. Thinking about her with her classmates made me jealous. I also want to be there. Gusto kong makita ang batang bersyon niya.

Then, the conversation went emotional when her grandma said that she lost her mom after giving birth of her. Even his dad passed away. Hindi nila naikwento kung paano ito namatay, but one thing is, ulila na siya.
