I finally stopped resisting when I was thrown over the giant's shoulders, not wanting to fall face first. "What are you doing?! Where are we going?! I CAN WALK!" I yelled replacing my physical thrashing about with verbal thrashing, even though I knew I wouldn't be understood. The giant walked with a steady sway through the woods, a torch was being carried by what looked like a small person. I assumed this to be the one who had alerted me. I had only actually caught a glimpse of the figure before the giant began moving. I watch as the trees moved past me and into the distance.
"What's your opinion on coffee?" I trailed off pretending the giant could understand me as I began to feel bored. "I enjoy it from time to time but sometimes I need it, ya know? But other times I probably should be kept far away from all that caffeine..." The giant grunted "Ah so you're a tea drinker then? Lucky for you I'm not completely on either side or I would probably be offended." I pretended to hear a response from him. "AH JASMINE! yes! a cup of that is always splendid! unless you leave the tea bag in for too long then it just gets too bitter to drink..."
I trailed off again noticing a brighter glow slowly filling the woods from behind me, or where the giant was walking towards. "You gonna sacrifice me to a volcano or something?" I asked somewhat jokingly somewhat scared. I could hear something, a party maybe? "We going to a feast or something? If so I gotta say I like my meat cooked medium well-never rare! unless you got your marina game on- not that I doubt it! I mean I'm sure you got top quality sauces!" I knew the giant wouldn't get offended but still found it hard not to stop talking. Looking at it I couldn't out strength the guy and the best option, if no one rescues me which is highly unlikely, is to just go with the flow. The light was growing bigger and brighter through the woods and the noise grew as well a sort of song sung by everyone. Suddenly, and without any warning, I was placed on my feet. Confused, I looked up at the giant, who did not look back but instead walked past me.
"What am I? Chopped liver?" I mumbled while turning around, following him with my eyes. A fire suddenly caught my attention, or maybe it was the moving figures around the fire. Dancing about. I saw someone carry a torch and toss it in. It was a kid. I smiled at the thought of it being a tiny person. Shifting my eyes from them back to the giant I saw him enter what looked like a tribal tent of some sorts.
I'm an idiot.
Following after him I stopped by the entrance of the tent before, hesitantly, entering. He was gone. But the tent wasn't empty. In the back there sat a pile of furs and silver hair behind a small smoking fire. I moved closer, feeling a strang pull. Stopping before the flame I looked up at the old woman. She looked how I would have imagined a chief to look, but different in some way. She looked at me with a strange knowingness. I started back, curious. She licked her lower lip then opened her mouth.
"It's not nice to stare, Wolf-Slayer."
