Of course this sudden commitment to heroism and defender of all things visibly good I was interrupted by the sudden jolt of the carriage. Remembering my position again and that I had no real power to prevent anything from happening to anyone at the moment I cringed. Wondering why Regal was no longer in the carriage like before I parted the curtains over the small cut out windows. I felt the blood drain from my face. Guards everywhere. Where did they all even come from? I must have completely zoned out earlier at some point because there was no way a normal person wouldn't have noticed that. Checking the other sides just to be sure of the complete surroundings I groaned. Regal was walking up ahead and there were dozens of guards walking beside and behind me. I looked down at my now uncuffed wriest. It was only a momentary victory. I bit my lower lip trying to come up with another plan of attack. After playing out some scenarios in my head I put the cuffs back on, slipping the key into one of the deep pockets of the Uni jacket I had previously stolen. Leaning back onto the cushion I tried to reel myself in. I was itching to act, but I knew it would be too premature. I'd have to figure out as much of what was going as possible before creating a plan to remedy it. This thought strangely reminded me of when Watson accompanied Holmes for the first time in order to investigate a murder case; Holmes had made no assumptions before carefully examining the whole situation, something Watson and myself both struggle with. Just be like Sherlock. Except not a druggy.
Routinely checking my surroundings during what felt like 20 minutes of static movement, I noted the streets, people, signs (which I could strangely read), and buildings. After a couple minutes of not checking I was about to lift the curtain again before the carriage came to a slow halt. Within moments the curtain was lifted and I was nonchalantly escorted out. Stepping out I noticed the huge empty space around me. I felt exposed and that I could be threatened at any moment; there was nowhere to hide. I was hurried up a great length of stairs and moved through several rooms, so quickly I barely had the chance to distinguish what exactly was different about each one. They all just sort of muddled together. Finally, we came to a halt in front of a large open entrance, something shiny hanging overhead. I think it was Manbun, but I can't be sure, who moved past us through the large entrance. As my eyes followed after him they caught onto the majesty of the room. There were paintings and finery in place everywhere you looked. I was so distracted that I nearly tripped as I was nudged forward. Realizing I was to enter such a room caused a sort of buzz in me. Was it like a spidey-sense? or just out of place excitement? My eyes crossed with another, sitting in the way back of the great room or hall. Not missing a thing my eyes merely glazed over their presence and went onto a dark green statue in the room. This was probably why the Emperess hated me.
