The sound died off but continued to resurface randomly. Marc cursed under his breath, "How could she make a mistake?" he said angrily. Soul always seemed to trust her with tasks she should never have been given. Although this was the worst of the many mistakes Lucinta had made there had been many leading up to it, and Marc was furious about it.

The pavement pounded under the young boy's feet as he weaved through the sea of people around him. He didn't know where he was going but he knew what he was going to do. Finally, have some fun. Jumping over a stationed cart he nearly tripped on a pile of wares he had not seen. Saving himself at the last, he became disoriented and crashed straight into a man much bigger than his small fourteen-year-old body. "Watch where you're going!" Marc yelled before bolting again feeling not the least bit sorry and not noticing the large man's face slipping into a murderous look.

Finally reaching the market square, Marc strolled about casually. Stopping every once and awhile to examine the wares on display. The hustle and bustle of the crowd had a strange calming effect on him as he was bored of the silence present in his daily life. Catching something in the corner of his eye he looked around. He knew something had passed right by him, but it was as though it didn't want to be seen. Turning his back to the display he had been examining he tried to process the crowded square. Catching a glimpse of it again he bolted after it, blending into the crowd effortlessly. It was silver! He beamed, finding a clue to win the game. Seeing the hazey silver once more he followed after between two closely built houses. Noone. There was a brightly colored red door at the end of the alley bearing a dark brown colored sign above it. Hesitantly he walked forward.

Before he knew a hand had grabbed him by the shoulder from behind, spinning him around and ramming him into the side of the alley. His head banged against the hard stone wall as the wind was knocked out of him. For a moment he stared dumbly at the large muscular man bearing down on him.
