Mage strained his eyes in the heat of the afternoon. Finally stopping in front of a tavern. A wagon stood nearby carrying a variety of tools. Mage gave the door of the tavern a couple sharp hits before a man twice his size came out. He let out a growl as Mage stepped back, unspooked. The gruff man glanced at Mage, to the cart and then back at him.

"You sure you want to do this?" he asked in a full yet low voice. Mage rolled his neck, cracking it a couple times before yawning while looking away from the towering figure.

"You have to ask me that again?"

After a while, and to no surprise, Marc got bored of his empty yet crowded surroundings. Mage had left only an hour earlier and something was bothering Marc about it. ignoring the thought he decided it was high time to punch his brother who was no doubt in the palace by now.  Parting the curtain that stood in place of a door he could feel the electricity in the air. A distant cackle sounded through the air sending his eyes heavenwards. Nothing. The sky was clear and sunny yet felt heavy. Feeling a sudden urge he ducked back into the shelter pushing aside a pile of rags revealing a little hole in the ground where a small embroider pouch laid undisturbed. Marc let out a soft breath. It was still there. Not daring to touch it he pushed the pile of rags back in place.

He had trusted Mage with something too important to leave in the palace.

Something from the past that could never fall into Luca's hands.

The Emperor's seal.

Soul floated through the crowd as if they weren't there. He was finally leaving. A small smile seemed to grow faintly on his boyish face with anticipation. He had found it. Grasping the pouch hanging from his side he bolted through the gates. In plain sight, he slowed to a steady walk not betraying the eagerness to leave he felt in every step. He was nieve thinking the way he was. That he could ever do what he set out to do without paying a price. "I have the ring," he thought, "anything is possible."

Even saving his sister.

A/N

Alright first of all, I have no idea what I'm doing. (I mean that's how it normally is but right now more so...)

There are a couple things that I gotta smooth out so any input is welcomed or recommendations. Next chapter should come out tomorrow night. (since I should really get back to posting every day)

welp... maybe I'll write more tonight anyway.

Til then!
