Minnie knew her orders and swiftly moved to complete them. As she rushed past a few older guards, they nodded to her, pushing away the heavy boulder that closed off the eastern entrance. Gripping her sword to her side she moved quickly down the mountain, darting around trees and jumping over ditches. This was her specialty. She was small and nimble, able to recover from anything with her steady balance. The old base, though not in use anymore, was still protected by a handful of warriors and guards. Minnie thought this was a waste of resources, but for some reason, Soul never lets up on their first hideaway. Turning her head slightly as she ran she caught a glimpse of a familiar cluster of trees. She felt a flutter in her hear as the feeling of nostalgia whelmed up inside her. Shaking her head before the memories had a chance to resurface she turned back to the task at hand. Luring the wolves away.
Following the established landmarks, Minnie came to the entrance of the old base. Slipping in she was met with an old familiar face. It was Aunty Roe. A smile crept across her face despite herself. The older woman had a bewildered look on her face, it had been awhile since she had seen Minnie and became worried as to why she was here now so late at night. "Aunty, I need Burgsbush." A shocked expression took over her face before she nodded turning away from Minnie and into a separate room. As she left two nearby guards starting talking, Minnie only caught half the short exchange of words, "You don't know what that is? It attracts evil things. If ya burn it, they'll come." The guard said trying to scare the younger one, who only replied with "I need to get my hands on that stuff." which took the other guard by surprise, "Mother-in-law?" "Mother-in-law." Minnie made a face at the stupidity of the conversation and was grateful when Aunty Roe came back carrying a box that could fit in the palm of her hand. "Don't use too much or else..." She paused, "too many will come." Minnie nodded, bowed and then quickly left after tucking the dangerous box into her cloak.
"The wolves weren't actually wolves, they only preferred that form because the species so greatly resembled them. A pack. Loyal and cruel. Soon everyone knew the creatures as the wolves often hearing their howls in the wind and seeing their shadows far off. Again and again they would rise but again and again, they would fall near extinction. Near extinction. The ones who accomplished this were called Wolf-Slayers, and most of the time only one would appear to complete the task. However, just like how the wolves only ever come close to extinction and never completely extinct, the rules must bend in an effort to change the game and what was impossible possible. Could there possibly be two Wolf-Slayers?" The old chief croaked before laughing hysterically. She already knew the answer as the fire blazed on in front of her. Now it was only a matter of time.
