69 - Final Surprise

"Becky, your last present is in this room somewhere." Dad told me. I grabbed my sisters hand and dragged her in.

"Come on sis, you can help me look." She smiled at me and we searched the room. I heard a phone go off. "Mom, your phone is ringing." She shook her head and I then realised what was happening. "NO! You didn't! Wait have you actually got me a new phone for my birthday mama and daddy."

"You gotta find out." Mandy smiled at me widely. The two of us went towards the noise and found at the top of the cupboard, a box. I pulled it out and unwrapped it. I saw an iPhone box and inside was the newest iPhone X that both mom and dad had themselves. I put it down carefully on the table and gave them each a massive hug.

"Thank you so so much. I love you both more than anything. Well you three, because you're incuded in that too sis." I took her hand and pulled her into the hug. "You are the best family and parents ever and I love you to infinity and beyond, I can't even describe it. Thank you so, so, so much."

"The one you need to thank is Maribelle. It was her idea to upgrade your phone and she payed the entire upfront cost, of $50, but for her that's a lot. Then Dad and I are paying your contract."

"Thank you so much sissy. I love you so so so much you don't even know." I pulled her up on to my hips and we hugged tightly.

"I love you too Becky. Does this mean I can have your 6S?"

"I knew you were going to try and get something out of it. And you will have to ask mom and dad okay, I don't get a say in you having a phone."

"Mom, Dad? Can I?"

"We will think about it. But you are only 7." Maribelle smiled and I assumed she thought there was no chance in her getting it. I put my sister down and we all head into the living room to relax a little before we all go to the theatre. "Okay so you're phone is already set up with all your details and iCloud and everything else. That's why all the texts that you would have got this morning you never got, because they all came to here. You have the same phone number and yeah. I hope you like it."

"You hope I like it, well I love it Mom. This is the best thing ever. I never thought I'd get the iPhone X. I know I stole yours a lot for photos and things but I never expected you to get me one." I turn the phone over and see it's 256GB of storage. "Okay, I'm never running out of storage again. My old phone was only 32GB. This is 8 times more. I can never thank you enough."

"Just ace it onstage tonight and then I know it will all be worth it."

"Thanks, I ought to get a case, because I will break this thing before I know it."

"We wanted you to pick a case, so the plan was to go out and get one after lunch, then head to the theatre."

"Okay, Thank you. Thank you so much."

We all arrive at the theatre and having been shopping to get me a case. I ended up going with the plain white silicon case, I was planning in my head as to ideas for a personalised one so I went simple and cheap for my first case. We arrived at the theatre and it was decked out with balloons and streamers. "Lexi! Joanna!" I called.

"Surprise!" They cheered and popped out from behind the curtain. "We hope you like what we did to the place."

"I love it. Thank you both. I have the greatest onstage sisters ever." I gave each of them a hug and the entire cast gathered around and sang me a happy birthday. We didn't eat the rainbow cake, because we had a show to do and corsets to fit in, but we did cover it with a tub to save for later. Before I knew it I was giving goodbye hugs to my dad, sister and Godparents and heading up to Joanna's room to get ready for the show. "Am I ready for this Joanna?"

"Of course you are Becky! You know this track inside and out, I know you do. You'll smash it, I promise. Now let's get that wig on." Joanna helped me pin-curl my hair and then we waited for my microphone to be given to me so we can attach that before I put on the wig. Once I have my mic on we put on my first wig and pin it into place. Next we do my makeup and I finally get dressed. The 5 minutes call comes on and I hear my mom knock on the door.

"Becky?"

"Yeah!"

"Lexi!" I knew at this point she was doing her ritual of calling the sisters together before the show.

"Yep."

"Let's go sisties." As she call us, I get out the seat and open the door.

"Here we go Mom or Sis, whatever I'm going to call you. Maybe just Mandy." We both giggle and Lexi comes out her room.

"Awww Becky you look amazing. You'll smash it, I know you will. Let's do this!" She holds her hand up and I high five her. We head down to the main room and everyone is there. They sing me happy birthday one more time and then formally welcome me to the company. I had signed my contract when I started the proper rehearsals, so had been getting full pay and I loved it. It's was weird getting paid so much money, I had it all go into one account to save for my future and had $30 a week in a separate account for me to use on whatever, so coffee or snacks or saving up for a new phone case for example. I had a second 'welcome to the company' debut thing even though I had already debuted. I got a text just as that ended. I picked up my phone and saw a message from dad.

Break a leg baby girl! Mom, Mari and I are so incredibly proud of you. Karen and Chris are very excited. We love you lots and know you will be amazing tonight. Dad xoxo.

Attached was a photo of him and my sister in their seats, and a photo of Maribelle holding the playbill and understudy slip, near the stage, with 'Becky Melini-Gonzalez' as 'Peggy Schuyler / Maria Reynolds'. Just seeing that made me feel incredibly proud of myself. I quickly responded and then put my phone down as the places call came up.

This was it. I gave Joanna a hug, then Lexi then had one of all four of us. As the show began I gave my mom a tight hug. "Thank you for everything mom, and for the best birthday ever."

"You deserve it, you've work so hard, now let's go out there and werk it." I giggled and gave her another tight hug as we waited for our cue to enter.
