"Write something inspired by a recent dream you had."
______________________________________________
This prompt had me lost even before I started, for I can rarely recall my dreams. I do dream, in vivid colours, dreams that leave me startled or slightly fearful or highly perplexed and I wake up in emotional confusion at times.
But for the life of me, I am unable to recollect my dreams with clarity.
I am amazed when my friends or one of my family members remember and describe their dreams, at times, I am envious too. But then, I shrug it off, maybe the dreams were not worth remembering, or in the case of scary dreams (as said, I do wake up in fright, not often, but I can remember the emotion) I am glad that I do not remember; why spoil my waking hours with memories of mild nightmares?
So what was the latest dream, there are vague images, of a leak below the kitchen sink, which I noticed while making breakfast. What was I cooking, no clue, but the kitchen was unfamiliar to me. And no, I do not believe that dream to be a message to call the plumber or a premonition that my kitchen would develop a leak. It was just a dream, a vague conglomeration of fuzzy meaningless images.
