"Search online for color palettes and be inspired to write by one you resonate with."

For a chromatophile (there seems to be some dispute regarding the exact meaning of this word, but I am considering the meaning to be one who is obsessed with colour) this prompt has me going gaga. I love colour or rather the many names of colour. I can never have enough of the names and the shades they mean. My obsession is evident from the fact that I have managed to write around four stories, completely revolving round colour and that, at one point of time, I was fascinated with making colour boards.
It is quite surprising that almost all colours can be derived from the three primary colours Red, Blue and Green, with the secondary colours being cyan (red and green), yellow(green and blue) and magenta (blue and red). The three primary colours put together would give white (RBG 256,256,256) and the three secondary colours would give black (RBG 0,0,0) and the entire spectrum of colours is within this bandwidth.
Leaving aside the technical specifications, lets us hop over to the poetry. Do you find some the the names to be rhythmic and some are tongue twisting while some names actually make you imagine a shade other than what it means.
There are a lot more -
Vermilion - vivid reddish orange
Melina - canary yellow
Tawny - golden brown
Sorrel - reddish brown
Chamois - buttery yellow
Sienna - yellow reddish brown
Why so many names - that is because what you see as red is not red for me, for though all colours are made up of RBG, the possible combinations are 16,777,216 (256*256*256) shades so all of us see colour differently. And colour influences everything, our lives, our choices and even our memories. So grey and silver and pewter, the colour is grey, but the images they evoke are so different. And based on our personal experiences each colour holds different meanings.
Enjoy the colours for even if life is black and while, our memories and desires are in resplendent colour.
