"Write about being caught doing something embarrassing."

Embarrassment – that flush of shame, consternation, guilt and anger, depending on who has caught you and what you were doing. I can broadly classify my personal embarrassments into three sub sects:

One, when you make a mistake, in your work (either at home or office, it does not make much difference to the intensity though the time ti lasts might differs). This embarrassment is of burning shame and self-loathing, accompanied to the sounds of self-chastisement which only echo the external ones. At times, it is enough to make you wish that the earth swallowed you whole. A milder version happens when someone points out a type  or error in your work.

The second one is when you are caught giving in to your temptation, happens a lot with me, and you can guess – yes, I am caught reading a book, when I should have been doing anything but that; getting dressed to office or a family outing; should have been watching the curry, but then it got burnt for I was lost in the pages of a book; I should have been cleaning my cupboard, which does not involve reading the book I have discovered in it; I should be joining in the conversation, not browsing through the e-book. The list is endless and the embarrassment routine, it is exasperation on both our parts (this is only at home, I do not read paper books at office and e-books are definitely easier to avoid being caught).

The final one is the one when you are caught by your friends as you try to brush off their questions, usually involving your crushes – few and far - yet these are the most pleasant ones, as you meander between shyness of admitting your crush and the joyous relief of being able to talk about it with your friends.

Well, I went generic instead of specific, as the idea of writing about my embarrassment was embarrassing and I was sure would lead to greater embarrassment to both my readers and me.
