"Choose a common cliche, then write something that says the same thing but without using the catch phrase."

What we see is rarely the truth, it could be a fact but then it is coloured by our preconceived notions and is painted by our perceptions. When we see something, our brain goes on an automatic checklist run, and when certain boxes are ticked, we come to a conclusion that what we see is what our brain thinks it to be.
Which is why first impressions could be wrong and second thoughts might be necessary.
