"Think of a place you went to when you were younger but it now no longer there or is something else. Capture your feelings about this in your writing."

Hiraeth - the place that used to be but is now only in my memories. Oh, that town is still existing and doing quite well, but it is no longer what is used to be.

Hiraeth - the little town where I went to school and formed friends who are still friends till this day, though the town is no longer a place I can go back to, or rather, I do not want to go back to.

Hiraeth - the town where I was a daughter to both parents, a daughter to a father, a daughter who believed that her father was her universe; a town that ceased to exist when he died.

Hiraeth - the town where familiarity was the norm, where I was known, more often than not, as my mother's / father's daughter; where almost everyone knew everyone, that town is now a stranger to me.

Hiraeth - the town that makes me nostalgic and a place I miss, not physically but I miss the daughter I was and the life I had then.

Hiraeth - the town that is alive in my memories, like the dappling sunlight on the wall of an abandoned house, mourning the loss of what could have been.

Hiraeth - the town which gave me everything and took my world in return, the town that fills me with tears and laughter, the town, which even if I go back, is not the town I left behind.

Hiraeth-  the town that is lost to me, wrapped up in the leaves of my past, for eternity and more.

Hiraeth - the town that I yearn for at times, one that will never be the same...
