"Write about a gift you have given or received."
_________________________________________
This is a little difficult for me, not because I have not received gifts, it is because I find it difficult or rather I am unwilling to pick and choose. It is not fair for me to pick one gift to write about, each gift, expected or unexpected, small or big, with reason or for no occasion, each gift has given me joy. It does not matter if it was a small wish or a card, or one of those which was not wrapped at all or those where even the wrapping paper was an art in itself (I stopped saving those papers as I was afraid I would turn into one of those hoarders ).
I love giving and receiving gifts - it signifies a bond and is a tangible reminder that the person for whom the gift is intended is in our hearts and is though of with love and joy. It is a simple way of telling people that we wish to thank them for being a part of our lives and filling our hearts with warmth and happiness. It is a means to share and give back a bit of the joy they give us.
That is what gifts mean - a token of appreciation for what the other person is and does not have any reciprocity or expectations of return. We just take turns to gift or receive - today we give a gift, tomorrow we receive one- and the cycle of giving gifts and spreading joy continues.
