"Think of your favorite book. Now write a poem that sums up the entire story in 10 lines."

Do you know of the Faraway Tree, deep inside the Enchanted Wood?
The tree that reaches the clouds and takes you to wondrous lands?
Lands that keep changing, some are nice, some enjoyable and some not so good
The Roundabout land, the land of Ice and Snow, the Rocking land
and the land Take what you want and many more.
The tree that is home Moon-Face and Silky the fairy,
Who tag along in the adventures of Joe, Fran and Beth
The Saucepan Man, Mr. Watzisname and the Angry Pixie,
Can you forget Dame Washalot, who is always washing everything?
Oh, what fun it must be, to visit the Faraway tree.

Word count 103 words - 10 lines of free verse. I somehow could not get it as I originally wanted, two sets of quatrains, but I guess this is fine enough. I picked this book for it was my first book, read when I was around nine (I was already late in reading books by then, my friends had started off much earlier) and one reading; I was hooked.
It has been written by Enid Blyton and there are four books in the series.
