Making a mistake or an error is not the end of the Earth. That is what logic dictates and wise men say, yet that stupid heart of ours has a different view. A mistake is an embarrassment, a lasting guilt and a conclusive evidence that you are not perfect. It leaves you in a fix, whether noticed or overlooked, whether chastised or forgiven, our conscience does not let it rest and you end up self-flagellating yourself. Attempts at either forgetting it or making amends for it also do not help. The intensity varies but the regret always stays with us.
