"Watch a movie that makes you cry. Write a poem about that scene in the movie."
_____________________________
I cry when I read books and when I watch movies, not much needed to bring those tears. However, there are a few movie scenes and a couple of books which make me teary eyed, just thinking of them. Of all of them, one book tops the list – HMS Ulysses, the first novel by Scottish author Alistear Maclean and the first book of his that I read. I cried throughout the book, from the beginning to the end, softy at some scenes, vastly at others. It also made me a fan of his stories, despite the stereotypical male hero (an expert in the field with a jaded and cynical outlook of the world). Each time I am in a mood to cry (we Librans have peculiar moods and unpredictable mood swings) I simply reach out for this book.
No, I am not going to write a poem on it, it would have to be on the entire book and I would end up crying buckets, all over again.
