It has been your spot for as long as you can remember, a place where you'd go when life got too rough and you craved an escape that could only be found in the peaceful waters of blue whisper lake, a body of water just through the twilight woods of your hometown on a trail uninhabited.

Tonight was no different, you come here every night when dusk falls upon the butterscotch colored skies. The leaves and damp hydrilla mold to the shape of your soles as you approach the lake, the peaceful sound of running water and crickets adding to the serene atmosphere of the area.

You can see the bright pale moon as you crane your neck upwards, looking at the sky littered with stars like a canvas splattered with white paint. This is where you feel safe, secure and like you're invincible. Everything feels right here, so right you always joke it holds a magical aura like some sort of fairy tail.

You're quite surprised not more people know about this place if you're honest. If you enter from the left, you're facing the side of the lake, a beautiful and quaint waterfall trickling peacefully to your right. Fireflies hover over the water and make the place look as if dozens of little fairies are dancing along to nature's music. There's no where in the world that makes you as happy.

So, as per usual, you slide the bag containing your towel and an extra pair of underwear off of your shoulder and let it sink to the ground. You slip your shoes off with ease, your loose lounging shorts following suit. You usually keep your tank top on just incase anyone happens to show up so you won't be completely exposed. Your lower half is kissed by the nights tender breeze, your toes dipping into the warm and inviting water as you inch closer to the lake.

You let your foot go first, the familiar rock underneath guiding you since you're unable to rely on your sight in the night to see where to step so you don't plummet to your death, per se. The calming water grazes past your bare thighs and then your torso, and before you know it, you're chest deep in the lake, the waterfall a few feet away from you, streaming down rocks covered by lilac and fuchsia flowers.

You smile to yourself as you swim over to it, the water guiding your path and drifting over your tired shoulders and neck as you do so. As you get closer, you notice something covering the grey rock. It's a substance, and it almost looks like a metallic teal under the moonlight. You furrow your eyebrows, reaching out to touch it. You swipe your finger across the rock and gasp a bit when you see that the substance has turned a gorgeous purple once it melts over your skin, the pigment feeling wet but looking dry on the pad of your index.

As you're fixated on the color adorning your skin, you suddenly hear a splash from behind you; one so loud, it makes you jump and let out a squeal, your arms flailing in the water to keep you afloat in the midst of your surprise. Your eyes dart around in a panic, the idea that something so large could be in the depths of the dark lake in which you're in, making you feel sick.
