Mia dropped me off last night after the Friday night massacre and we watched many episodes of Criminal Minds all day yesterday.
I settled on jeans, a sweater and Vans since it's been raining since last night so I already know it'll be chilly outside. I did the norm like I do every school day and Mia and I were now walking down the hall.
Kids were all surrounding the notice board and I already knew it was about the math test results. I unpacked my books from my locker and made my way to my class, suddenly being buried in someone's chest as their arms held me close.
The all familiar scent of Gatorade and mint consumed my nostrils and I sigh. Not of satisfaction, but trying to keep myself from doing something I'll regret.
"You did it!" Jace whispers oh so cheerfully in my ear, my eyebrows knitting together as I look up at him though his arms were still holding onto my waist.
"What did I do?"
His smile widens, "You got 97%. Put you straight in second place."
His arm was slung around my shoulder as we made our way to Math. "Who was first?"
Jace's smile turns into a grin and I roll my eyes as if it wasn't already obvious that it was him.
I sat down at my seat and he got settled in his behind me as well. It was crazy how we were, well I was, just asking and playing along with all this like nothing was wrong and I wasn't crying two nights ago, struggling to even look at the big ass elephant in my room.
No, I was not gonna act like it was okay and I was not gonna act like I'm okay and I'm not hurting inside.
So I didn't. It's now Friday and Jace and I finished our tutoring lessons on Wednesday. It's been really awkward I'll admit.
He kept trying to start up a topic not concerning math but I'll just avoid and focus myself on the lesson. He would keep looking at me when I ignored him and would ask me what's wrong but I wouldn't answer.
Mia was now taking me home and I decided to text Drew.
<< Fortnite is on
>> Jordan told me, omw
I hop out of Mias car and walk through the front door, shocked at what was before me.
Jordan and Jace were comfortably seated on the couch, playing Mario Cart. Keeping my sanity, I walk upstairs, place my bag in my room and head back to the living room.
"Why are you here?" My arms were placed on both of my hips as I stood at the door of the room.
Jordan paused the game and looks over at me, Jace smiling. "Jace came over after school, I let him stay and hang out with us," he stood and made his way towards me. "Drew will be here in ten, gonna go get snacks."
Jordan left to go to the kitchen, leaving Jace and I alone in the living room. My arms were how akimbo as I shot daggers towards him. "Come on Munchkin," he whines, "There's a third controller."

Probably about three hours later, I had beaten all of the guys in Mario Cart about twice now and they just kept asking for rematches. "Ugh, fine," I sat back down between Jace and Drew after my victory dance from the last win on the three seater couch, Jordan upside down on the one man couch, his ears a bright red from the blood rushing to his head."I'll take Toshi," Drew says, selecting his character. "I'll get Peach," I say as I choose my own.
"Luigi," Jordan says and we all turn to Jace.
"I'll get Mario," he shrugs.
"You do know that Mario is Peaches husband, right?" Drew says in a childish manner, me rolling my eyes and Jordan chucking as he sat up.
"So?" Is Jace's response.
"Yeah, why does it matter? That basically makes him my brother in law if you choose to look at it in a whole nother perspective," Jordan says with a sly smirk, I shot glares at him while I could see Jace's cheeks rise as he grinned.
"Fuck you, Jor," I mumble. "If that's a problem, I'll be Daisy-"
"If you do that, I'll just choose Luigi," Jace shrugs and I groan, starting the race non the less.
Once again, I beat them all. I'm definitely proud of myself, I won $25 from both Jace and Drew making it a solid 50 but Jordan refused to pay up claiming that if I paid him everytime he beat me at something, I'd be owing myself money.
Drew left and Jordan decided to let Jace stay over the night. "Though we don't have a guest room and there is no way Laila would be comfortable with me letting a guy sleep in my room," Jordan says as we all head up the stairs. They both stop and turn to me with sly smirks.
"No. No, no, no, no, no! You wanted him here, he sleeps with you," I say.
"Please munchkin?" Jace whines as he grabs hold of my waist right before I could get to my room. I heard a door shut and look to my left to see that Jordan had already run off into his room.
I groan, "Fine." We both entered and I grab a pair of sweats and a sports bra before going into my bathroom, changing and walking out.
Jace was seated nervously on my bed as he looked at the elephant. "Um, I don't really have a change of clothes, so-"
"It's either you sleep in those jeans or you ask Jordan for some of his," I say with a tight smile, tossing my clothes in the hamper.
"But he's probably already asleep and I wouldn't want to disturb him so..."
I groan once more before going to my closet and finding my pair of basketball shorts which I haven't yet worn because they're way too big. I toss them at him and he gracefully catches them. "Here. Keep your shirt on though."
I plop on my bed and get comfortable in my sheets, staring at my phone as I text Mia a goodnight. What we've been doing every single night since the day we met. An I love you to the ones you love would make a huge difference you know, you never know when something would happen.
The sound of a zipper being drawn was heard and I groan as I cover my eyes with my blanket, "Oh my gosh, Jace!"
He chuckled, followed by shuffling before the light turned off and there was a dip in my bed. My phone was taken out of my hands and I turn to face Jace who places it on the bedside table, "Hey!"
"You're not supposed use electronics before you go to bed. It will damage your sleep pattern."
I groan before turning around and drifting to sleep.
"Goodnight Munchkin."
I love this chapter, short and sweet. But the beginning of the next one is gonna have you thinking Mikayla has been on some type of Viagra pills.
