I look up from my book and turn to find Jace smiling at me. "Oh, hey," I smile. Jace stood from his chair and pulled up one beside me before sitting down. "Whatcha readin?" I ask.
"Just going through some problems in math," Jace casually shrugs and I chuckled.
"You really like that subject, don't you?" I smile and he nods. Silence engulfed us and I returned to my book. "Hey, why don't we just make this our session for today?" Jace says with a suggestive look. I sigh, closing my book before finally nodding.
Jace smiles as he scooches closer to me, opening up his book to it's table of contents. "So, what do you need help in?"

"So basically, this diagonal line is known as the hypotenuse. The other two lines are the adjacents," Jace began to explain Pythagoras theorem for me. We spent the rest of the study period going over topics I didn't understand until the dismissal bell finally rang.
Jace and I left the class and into the busy hallway of kids rushing to get home. Though it wasn't as busy considering the fact that most of the kids stayed for extra hours on Mondays.
After Jace had gotten his bag from his locker, he walked me down to mine. "What happened on Friday?" Yup, definitely expected this. I shrug, closing my locker, "I had to be somewhere."
"Where?" Jace asks as we exit the school and begin to walk down the stairs. "It's a family thing and it was very urgent," I lie.
"So urgent that you had to run out without telling me?"
"Yes, that urgent."
"So it was too urgent that you had to run back home instead of asking for a ride?"
"I wanted to exercise," I defend myself.
Jace squints his eyes, "I don't believe you."
"You don't have to freaking believe me, Jace!" I yell, catching the attention of a few bystanders but they just looked at us and returned to whatever they were doing.
Jace was about to speak up but I beat him to it, "Now if you'll excuse me, I have dish duty today," and with that, I stomp my way to Mia's car and hop into the passenger seat.
Drew and Mia were just looking at me with strange looks until I spoke up, "Don't bother." I pulled out my phone and plugged in my headphones, slouching further in my seat.
I hopped out of the car and all I could hear FROM MY DRIVEWAY were people yelling. "Then how in the world do you expect me to pay my bills!" I recognized the voice as Jayla's.
"You moved out of this house on your own! Nobody forced you! Why can't your little boyfriend help you!" I could hear my dad yell back. I entered the house and roll my eyes as I see my sisters boyfriend casually seated on the couch watching TV. By 'casually' I mean 'head on the armrest and legs pointed in every direction'.
Byron has a caramel skin tone like mine, brown eyes and matching curly hair and white studs. His teeth are literally some of the most perfect, white and straight teeth you'll ever see too.
But his attitude sucks.
I silently make my way towards the sta-" Oh hey, sister in law," speak of the devil. I roll my eyes before turning on my heels, my eyes meeting Bryson's as he makes his way towards me.
