I quickly rush over to Mikayla and pick up her head and put it in my arms. Luckily, she landed on the grass and not the sidewalk. "Mikayla, open your eyes," I gently tap her cheek before pulling out my phone and dialling 911. "Yes, hello?...Um, my girlfriend just got shot. She's losing a lot of blood...Yes...Please, hurry up."

"We're on our way, sir."

I hang up and lay her gently on the grass, pulling off my sweater and wrapping it around her waist to apply pressure. "Hang in there, baby. They're coming." I really do my best not to cry or do anything because I know that she'd want for me to stay strong for the both of us.

But I was also worried because I was the only one not hurt next to a guy that shot his brains out and a girl who got shot in the abdomen. If anything, my hand prints were on the gun too so people may think that I shot the both of them.

In less than five minutes, the ambulance arrived and put her on a stretcher. Mr. Walker was checked for a pulse before put on a stretcher as well and they covered his face as a sign on death.

He deserves to die.

All of this was his fault.

How do you torment an innocent person for months and expect not to be punished? The worse punishment of all is killing yourself because you're going straight to hell.

They put Mikayla in the ambulance. I ran up to one of the paramedics. "Can I please go in there with her?"

"Are you family?" He asks.

"I'm her boyfriend–"

He shook his head. "Only family is allowed. Sorry," he shrugs, closing the doors of the truck.

"Fuck!" I groan before running to my house as fast as I could. I grab the car keys and avoid the weird looks I was getting as I ran out of the kitchen.

Kylie stood blocking the door. "What happened? Why are you shirtless and covered in blood?"

"It's a long story. Move!" I try shoving her away but this child had a black belt in karate so that didn't work.

"Answer me, Jace!"

"Mikayla got shot and is going to the hospital right now, move!" I say, finally getting her out of the way and running to the car, not knowing my sister's were all following.

Now, we're currently packed up in my car. I hand Kylie my phone since she was in the passenger seat as I try to drive as fast as I could staying in the speed limit. "Call her Mom and tell her what happened. It's saved as Mrs. King."

She nods and enters my password–since she's the only sister that knows it–before calling Mrs. King. "Hi."

"Hello? Is this not Jace? I saved it as his number," Mrs. King said.

"Yeah, this is his younger sister."

"Mrs. King, Mikayla got shot. We're headed to the hospital now," I tell her, keeping my eyes on the road as I swerve through as many cars as possible.

"WHAT! Wait, what happened?"

"There was a drive by and I couldn't save her," I come up with a quick lie. I hate lying. Especially to such important people but what was I supposed to say?

Oh, remember the stalker your daughter warned you about in February? Well...he's been tormenting her since and he decided to shoot her before shooting his brain out.

No.

"How? You know what, I don't even need to know. Let my baby know we're coming right now." She hung up.
