"Hands at ten and two," the instructor announces and I do as told. "Go ahead."
I began driving, following the instructions of staying in the area. I've never driven so carefully before but obviously it was just for the sake of the test.
"You're doing really good, Miss. King," he says and I smile, turning a corner. His phone began to play Nonstop by Drake and he picks up his phone. I notice how he groans, reading the number before answering it. "Heyyyyy Mom," he plays a fake smile.
A Spanish sounding accent plays in the back as the lady yells.
The guy starts speaking in Spanish and though I can't understand everything, I do get quite a few parts and I was able to pick up the fact that he was supposed to babysit his siblings.
"Okay, I'll be there in two hours.....Love you too...Bye," he hangs up.
"How old are they?" I ask.
"Huh?" He turns to face me.
"Your siblings. How old are they?"
"Oh," he chuckles, shaking his head. "Three and five."
I park back in front of the DMV and turn off the car. "How old are you, may I ask?"
"Twenty three," he smirks. "I'm guessing you're a senior?"
"Junior." He opens his mouth but I stop him. "And taken."
He smiles, "How'd you know I'd ask?"
I shrug, smiling back. "Happens a lot. You're in...college?"
"In my third year." I nod.
"And you chose...to be...a driving..instructor?" I question.
He chuckles. "I'm just an intern."
"Oh. Well, um...did I pass?"
"Yeah. You did," he smiles. "We can go inside and get your license picture taken and everything."
We both get out of the car and into the building. I stand by a blank wall and contemplate. "Should I smile or no? Cause if I do, I'd have to get a new one when I get my braces taken out."
He chuckles, "It doesn't matter. You'd have to renew it anyway. Just do as you please."
I took the picture, smiling by the way, before waiting for it to print and he hands it to me. "Thank you..."
"Leo," he shoves his hands in his pockets. "My name's Leo."

I nod and smile, shoving the license in my purse. "See ya around, Leo." I walk outside with a proud smile and get into Jayla's car. She was eating a bag of Cheetos, rubbing her belly. "Hey fatty."
"I'm not fat. I'm only two months pregnant. This is baby fat."
