"I wanna show you something," Phoenix smiles and I nod before we get in the car. I buckle my seatbelt and switch on the radio.
"You, you love it how I move you. You love it how I touch you. My one, when all is said and done. You'll believe God is a woman. And I, I feel it after midnight. A feelin that I can't fight. My one, it lingers when we're done. You'll believe God is a woman." I began swinging my hair all around when the beat starts, causing Phoenix to break out in a fit of laughter.
"I swear I love your voice." He says, causing my heart to skip a beat and I could feel my whole body begin to heat up.
"Thanks." I smile.
"Hello? Anyone there?" I crease my eyebrows before pulling my phone out of my back pocket and finding that I was on a FaceTime call with Jace. "Hey." He smiles. His brown hair was still all over the place which I didn't mind considering it was still ten in the morning. Sweat was pouring all down his face as I notice he was shirtless, his sweaty skin glistening in the sun.
I quickly look up to meet his eyes. "Oh, sorry. Why'd you call?"
"You called me," he chuckled.
"For real? Must've butt dialed you.". I say and he just smiles.
"Anyway, what are you doing?"
"Phoenix is taking me somewhere apparently," I shrug, noticing how his body tensed at the mention of Phoenix's name. "You?"
"Just returning home from a run. Um, wanna go get ice cream or something later?"
"Uh," I turn to Phoenix who interrupts.
"You can join us at the movies," Phoenix directs his statement towards Jace and I turn back to my screen."
"Cool. I'll be there in thirty minutes."
*****
He lied. AGAIN.Phoenix and I spent forty five minutes waiting for him but he never came so we just decided to watch the movie without him. We made our way back to the car in silence before I hop in. "That was what you wanted to show me?"
He chuckled as he gets onto the main road. "No, there's something else." He began to drive in the direction which I knew was the way to his house.
"Hey Drew," I wave once we had entered the house. "Yo. So I now have it all set up," he smiles and I do too.
"Well you better go and start getting ready." He nods before running off to his room. I follow Phoenix to his room and lay down on his bed. "Well, I'm here." I state the obvious.
Phoenix lays himself beside me, our shoulders brushing together. "Well, technically. I don't wanna show you anything. Mainly want to tell you something."
I sit up at his words and he copies the action as I sit Indian style, my whole body facing him. "Yeah?"
He started looking down at his lap like he was nervous or something which made me nervous as well. "Mikayla, I like you. Alot." He looks up at me and our eyes meet.
"The whole time I was in Canada, my mind could only focus on you and nothing else. I know that we've known each other for awhile and have been on this whole friendly status but I was wondering if you would be my girlfriend?" He asks.
My mind is on cloud nine as I process his words.
I have never had a boyfriend not even once in my life. Literally no boy has ever even told me they liked me, period. But I trust Phoenix and I do like him alot too.
I'm actually really happy that he wanted to be my first boyfriend.
A smile arises on my cheeks, "I like you too and I'd love to be your girlfriend."
