"That's cute," Mia smiles.
I do too, twirling in the dress. "Thanks."
"I just have one question though."
"What?"
"What is all this for?" She questions. "I mean, you never dress shop."
"Jace and I are going to hang out later," I smile.
"So you bought a dress?" She gives me a blunt look.
I look down at my shoes, rocking back and forth on my heels. I could feel my cheeks heating up.
"Aww, so you guys are official now?"
I nod with a smile. "Have been for the past week."
She smiles. "Drew wanted me to go to his house later. Wanna come?"
I shake my head. "I have alot of homework. Maybe some other time. We haven't hung out as a trio in awhile."
She nods before her phone rings. She stood. "That's him. See you later babes." She hugs me.
"Bye."
"Bye."
She left the store and I go back into the changing room. I stare at myself in the mirror. I look cute.
I change back into my clothes and purchase the dress. As I was walking through the mall, I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched. I mean, there are at least three hundred people in this mall but when you feel like you're being watched, you can't help but get an uneasy feeling.
"Mikayla!"
I turn back and see Mere running towards me. I smile when she stands in front of me. "Hey Mere."
"Hey. About the homework. What page did he say we should read?" She asks, seemingly out of breath.
"Um..28 to 53."
Her eyes widen. "Well, there goes my weekend."
"It's Wednesday." I correct her.
"Yeah. But me and my parents are going to Calymar for a week. Can you tell Mr. Walker for me tomorrow."
I nod. "Sure. Well, see you next week I guess?"
"Bye Kayla." She walked back towards where she had come from.
I turn around and enter Starbucks. I see someone I recognize and he turns from wherever he was facing to face me once I wave.
He stood from his chair and walks towards me. He smiles. "Hey Mikayla."
"Hey Mr. Walker. Um, Mere said she'll be out of town for the next week. Just thought I should tell you."
"That's fine. What are you doing here?" He questions.
"I just came to get a little snack. My boyfriend should be on his way to pick me up."
He nods. "Well, see you later then." He winks before walking off and back to his table. He talked a bit to a lady before she stood with a smile and they both walk out together. His arm drapped around her shoulders as I watch the two walk out. His eyes were fixed on me through the corner of his eyes, the feeling back in my stomach.
"I said next!" The cashier yells and I jump a little before walking up and ordering a glazed donut and some other drink that I don't know the name to but it looked pretty.
