"I think I'mma get pink this time," I say and the doctor smiles. Jace doesn't want me to get pink but I'm still gonna get it cause it's one of the only colors I haven't tried.

Half an hour later, we both walk back into the car arguing. "You should've stuck with blue."

"But I've never tried pink," I pull down the visor and open the little mirror, viewing my teeth. "I think it's cute."

"Yeah, sure," he rolls his eyes. "But when do you change the color again?"

I chuckle. "Damn, you really don't like the color? But next month."

"You better get that shit changed cause," he shakes his head and I chuckled.

"You are so judgemental."

"I am not. I just like my Princess in certain things," he shrugs, my cheeks heating up as I smile.

"Ooh, daddy cute."

It's now his time to smile. "Daddy?"

I chuckled. "Don't get ahead of yourself."

He pulls up into my driveway and pulls my lips into his. Instead of kissing me, he pecks my lips repeatedly with the "mwah" sound and I laugh as he trails his lips down my neck before they land back on my lips again.

I push him away. "Damn daddy. Aggressive much?"

He smiles, holding onto my cheeks and pecking my lips once more. "Just claiming what's mine." He winked.

"Mikayla?!"

"Yeah?!"

I wait for a response, none comes.

"Yes?!"

Nothing.

"Hello?!"

Nothing. Don't y'all hate when y'all parents do that? They call y'all then act all mute whenever you respond. Like they deaf or something. Dumbest shit ever.

I groan, shoving my covers off of me and storming downstairs and into the kitchen. Mom stood with her hands on her hips. "Don't be yelling all up in my damn house like you pay the bills."

"Okay."

She holds her ear.

"Yes ma'am," I correct myself.

"Good. Now, I need you to make the chicken."

I groan. "Mama, we stay eating chicken in this house. We can't just eat cereal or something?"

She rolls her eyes and returns to the pot on the stove. "Your Dad wants chicken and I've already made the fried rice. Jordan seasoned the chicken before he went to Laila's so I just need for you to grill it."

I walk over to the window and peek through the curtains. It was really dark out. "Can I grill it in the oven?" I turn back to her. I really did not want to get jumped tonight.

"Yeah, that's fine."

I turn off the light and crawl into bed, ready to turn in for the night. My phone rings and I pick it up from the dresser, reading the name "Boyfriend 💛😍💪".

I smile and pick it up. "Hi boyfriend."

"Hey baby. What's going on? Why's it so dark?"

"Oh, I turned off the light. I was about to go to bed. What's up?"

"Oh, then lemme not disturb your sleep-"

"No, you called so it must be important. What's up?"

He smiles. "Can you at least turn on the light?"
