I shut the door before walking over to the swing set and sitting beside Jordan, opening my bag of chips. "So what exactly happened?"

"With the breakup?" Jordan asks, turning off his phone.

"Yeah," I place a chip in my mouth. "Did you break up with her or vice versa?"

"She did."

"What happened?" I asked with a full mouth.

Jordan sighs before saying, "When I went over to get her for our movie, I thought everything was fine honestly."

"When was this?"

"Uhhh..after Halloween," he told me.

My eyes widen. "That long and you never told me?"

He only shrugged. "Yeah, so everything was fine. We saw the movie. Blah blah blah. Then once we had gotten back into the car, she didn't let me start it, saying she wanted to talk. So we did or whatever. Then we started talking about our future and that's kind of when I realized something was off cause we usually don't and the only other time we did was when I wanted to ask her to marry me."

"Mhmm?"

Jordan scratched his neck. "Then she brought up that time in Nadu when I had fake proposed to that lesbian chick and she got Laila's number. Laila and her have been talking and so now they're together," he shrugs.

"How is she just gonna go with someone she barely even knows though? I think that's kind of cruel," I said feeling the pain for my twin.

"Well I mean, it's been almost a year since we went to Nadu. At this point I can't really give a care. There are many other girls out there, I just gotta be patient to find the right one."

"Hey, Mikayla?"

I close my locker and turn around, finding Principal Wallis approaching.

I give him a polite smile. "Oh, good morning Mr Wallis."

"Morning. You sing, right?" He questions, scratching the back of his neck. Mr Wallis has always been this chilled type of principal with a dark skin tone, no hair and dark brown eyes. The muscular structure of an underwear model.

"Um..yeah?" I say more like a question, my heart rate picking up.

"Well as you know, the senior prom is coming up next week. Does your boyfriend sing?"

"Yes sir."

"The school is willing to give you both five hundred dollars to perform a song during the slow dance."

My eyes widen. "Five hundred dollars?"

"Each," he winks. "You ask your little guy friend if he's up for it. You know where to find me." And with that, he walked away.

I turn on my heels and walk into English, sitting beside Mere. "Hi."

She looks up at me from her phone. "Oh, hey Mikayla."

"Who you talking to?" I tried to peak at her phone.

Her cheeks become a light pink color. "Connor."

"Aw. All y'all serious now?"

"No. We just talk," she shrugs and I could tell she was disappointed.

"Prom?"

She shook her head. "I honestly don't think he's going." She pulled out a book and started doodling things down, Lord knows what.

The door opened and Jace held the door for someone. A few seconds later, Connor walks in with a bouquet of roses, a teddy bear, box of chocolates and a bright smile.
