•Fourty Five•

"I was for real dying the whole time, trying to keep my cereal in my mouth," I start laughing again though keeping it on a low because everyone was asleep.

Me, Finn, Jace and Mia have been on this facetime call since Jackass left. I've just been telling them about the dinner for the past two hours.

"Okay, okay. Enough of that," Finn says as he sat up from his bed from laughing. "Now, what is all this Bubs shit I've been hearing about?"

Me and Jace's eyes both widen. Should I tell them we're dating, or just tell them that it's fake and temporal?

I smile, "I'll let Jace explain it."

He gave a short look, I guess realizing that Mia and Finn could see him too. "Well you guys, Mikayla and I are together!" Jace exclaims oh so gleefully.

Mia starts squealing and clapping her hands, "Finally! I've been waiting since forever for y'all to finally start dating."

"Right? I saw it all from the beginning. I just knew you two would end up together, Phoenix was just a speed bump," says Finn.

"Wow, a full speed bump?" I let out a fake chuckle, trying not to feel weird after the mention of Phoenix's name.

Ever since the breakup, I haven't seen him around school. We don't share any classes so it may be the main reason.

"Well, um, I gotta go. I'm like super tired," I say and hang up before even letting everyone say bye.

Honestly, I was tired. But I also was worried about how tomorrow would be considering all these new changes in my life.

Suprisingly, the day went really well. Jace picked me up for school and we literally have been walking around the school holding hands and all that other boyfriend girlfriend stuff.

School is now over and I now have to apparently wait for Aunt Jackass to come get me from school so we can go buy my outfit for her wedding. "Bye, Baby," Jace mumbles in the crook of my neck.

"Bye bye," I coo and hug him tightly before releasing and pecking his cheek.

He froze and I notice his cheek where I kissed him is now red, "What?" I chuckle.

"Nothing." He walks off to his car which is when I spot Jackass's red Land Rover.

I hop into the back, not wanting to be near her, being greeted by my mother. "Hey Mom."

"Hi Sweetie."

"Oh, so I'm invisible now?"

I roll my eyes and say through gritted teeth, "Hi Aunty Jackie."

"Hey Kayla," I hear Jayla greet and realize she's sitting in front of me in the passenger seat.

"Hey Jayla. How ya doing, girl?"

"Good."

A little while later, we find ourselves at the mall. I've been at the mall enough this past month to last me the whole year, honestly.

I walk out of the dressing room probably in my fourth dress, "Okay, if you don't like this one you can just-"

"Just what?" Jackass pursed her lips.

"You can just suck a lollipop," I reply with folded arms.

Mom smiles, "You look beautiful, sweety."

"Yeah, I like it too. Hey look at that," Jackass turns to Mom, "we just agreed on something."

"Now don't get cocky," Mom rolled her eyes.
