The first person I spot once I walk into school is Connor. He was just across from my locker talking to some guys that I didn't know. He glanced at me then back at his friends, then over at me again. I guess just processing who it was.

He says a few words to them before walking over to me with a smile. "Hey."

"Hi." I smile as well. I fiddle with the sleeves of my shirt, they were still a little damp.

His fingers trail under my chin and cause me to look up at him. "Have you been crying?"

"No." I lied. "You know, it's flu season. Just caught it this morning." Truth is, I have been crying. Alot. The thought about losing Jace or any of my friends for that matter getting hurt killed me-knowing that I was the cause of it all.

"Oh..kay?" He didn't seem to have believed me what so ever. "We should probably get to class." I nod and we walk upstairs to Chemistry.

Finn and Jace's eyes burn through mine the second we enter. Finn is the first one to run up and give me a hug. "We heard you weren't doing okay." He says before pulling me to arms length. "Is everything alright?"

I nod with a smile, happy that they are actually concerned. "I'm okay."

Jace walks over with his hands in his pockets. "You sure?" His question was directed to me but his eyes were looking past me.

"Yeah, I am." I turn and realize that he's looking at Connor. "Oh. This is Connor."

"The one that tried to rape you at the party?" He asks, his eyes turning cold.

Connor goes pale and I give him a reassuring smile before turning back to Jace. "No. Just Connor."

Jace only nods and walks away, sitting in his seat.

We all walk out of class and it is now free period. "Y'all wanna go hang out on the field?" Jace asks.

I was just about to agree before a hand lands on my shoulder. My instant reflexes cause me to turn around and slap them across the face. I cover my mouth once I realize who it is. "Oh my gosh, Connor. I am so sorry."

He groans, hoding onto his cheek. I pick up his glasses which had fallen to the floor and hand them to him. "Thanks." He puts them on. "And it's fine. Can I talk to you?"

"Sure. We were just about to-"

"Alone."

I gulp and turn back to Jace and Finn who had confused looks. I turn back to Connor and nod. "Sure. I'll see you guys later." I wave at Finn and Jace.

Connor pulls by my wrist and takes me with him into the library. There were quite a few kids in there considering that it was free period and most people perfer to study.

We find a table in a corner, near a window and between two bookshelfs. "Yeah, what's up?"

"What's going on?" He whispers, folding his arms on the table and leaning a bit forward.

"What do you mean? Nothing is." I lie.

"Yes there is. I can see it in the way you talk, walk, look at everything like you're in a horror movie. Something is going on."

"How would you know that? You've only known me for a day." I challenge, crossing my arms and leaning back into the chair.

"I'm studying to be a psychologist. I know these things. From the way people talk, act and their perspective on certain things. Something is wrong with you." His face is full of concern.

I just stare at him. His dark green eyes burning through mine as I try not to break. I sigh. "Can I trust you?"

"Of course you can. What is it?"
