"No."

"Please?"

"No."

"Please?"

"Mia," I whip towards her, "you've already dragged me to at least three parties this year."

"Three more than I thought you would actually go to," she mumbles and I turn around. "Mikayla! Wait!" She runs after me but I'm walking way too fast for her to catch up.

I walk into the girls bathroom and head into an empty stall. I unbuckle my jeans and suddenly hear the door open but they were too quiet that it was scary. "Hello?" I call out.

No response. A pair of boots stood under the door and my eyes widen, my heart rate increasing.

"This stall is taken!" I yell.

A hand reached to the top of the door and starts shaking it vigorously, I'm now screaming out in fright. "Hey! This stall is out of order!" A female voice yells and I quickly pick up my jeans and walk out.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't use it though," I defend. She had headphones on so it's probably why she never heard me yelling.

"That's fine. What's wrong though, sweetheart? Is a bully frightening you?" The female janitor asks with a worried expression.

I give her a reassuring smile. "Something like that."

"Well, you seemed pretty scared. Have you told anyone about it?"

"No," I shook my head.

She places her hand on my shoulder. "You probably should. I don't wanna see you hurt."

I nod with a smile. "I will." I lie. I quickly wash my hands and walk out, running into Kehlani.

"Hey Kay," she smiles.

"Hi." I quickly say and walk off. Ever since Saturday, I will admit I've been quite paranoid. The unknown caller wants to hurt Jace. I know that for sure which is why I need to meet them.

I notice Jace and run up to him, taking him in my arms. The tears staining my eyes.

"Jace." I say, holding back the tears.

He slightly pushes me off and I look up at him with furrowed brows. "Can we talk?"

I nod and follow him into a nearby empty classroom. I close the door and walk towards him, he's stood by the window looking distant as he thinks.

"Jace, what's wrong?"

He turns towards me and shows me something on his phone. It's of me and Phoenix at Drew's house, by the pool whenever I had confronted him. "Kayla, what is this?"

"I know you can see what it is, Jace." I say bluntly.

"That's not the point. Are you cheating on me or something?"

"First of all, we're not even a real couple." As much as it hurt to say that, it was true. "And I would never do that to you. We were just talking." My mind switches to something else. "Wait–Who sent these to you?"

He shrugs, doing something on his phone. "Some unknown number."

"Let me see."

He hands me the phone and I go through the messages.

Unknown: seems like you really have something for Ms. King, especially after that little kiss of yours

Unknown: too bad nothing will ever happen between the two of you because she still has feelings for little QB
