Chapter 50: Breaking Down I

GEORGINA'S POV

"Where exactly are you taking me?" nagtatakang tanong ko sa katabi ko. Hindi ko alam kung saan kami pupunta ni Duke basta bigla na lang niya akong sinabihan na magsuot ng decent attire kasi may pupuntahan kami.

Excitement was written all over my face. The fact that he wasn't telling me where were going made the dragons in my stomach flutter even more.

"Basta, relax ka lang." he turned to me and winked, "You're gonna love it there."

I gave him a suspicious look, not the there-is-something-wrong look. It was actually the opposite. Something sweet is going to happen I could feel it in my bones. A smile is gradually painted upon my face. Honestly, I don't even know why I'm smilng. All I know is that there is so much joy in my heart whenever I am with him. Maybe that's the reason why I am falling in love with him over and over again. He has this thing that could make me smile without a specific reason. Something that would make my cheeks red, dragons fly furiously in my stomach, a heart that beats faster and slower at the same time.

"I love you, Duke." I don't know what has gotten into me that I found myself uttering those words out of nowhere.

Duke was caught off guard when he heard what I said. He confusedly stopped the car and veered his direction to me. "Ano sabi mo?" he said while resisting himself to smile, obviously.

"I know you heard it. Paandarin mo na nga ang sasakyan." nahihiyang saad ko habang umiiwas ng tingin.

But Duke was persistent. He cupped my chin and gave me a peck right when I turned my face to him. At dahil dun, hinampas ko siya sa braso. "Nantsatsansing ka! I hate you."

"I love you too." sagot niya at muli ng pinaandar ang sasakyan.

Oh my God, mabuti na lang nakaupo ako kung hindi siguro nahimatay na naman ako dahil sa kilig. Whew! Sinasabi ko na nga ba, maglalaro na naman ang mga dragon sa tiyan ko at may nagkakarerang mammoth na naman sa puso ko.

Dinala ako ni Duke sa isang patio restaurant kung saan karamihan sa mga pumupunta ay mga oldies. Vintage ang setting ng restaurant, I think 70's to 80's ang theme. Sabi nila ang sinumang kumain dito ay magkakaroon ng happily ever after. The couple will grow old together just like the other couples who were actually here. May mga nakasabit na pictures of couples sa mga trunks ng puno, meron ding naka-ukit na mga pangalan with the year they visited the restaurant. Cute and classy.

There were different lights coming from the hanging lanterns and a couple of oldies dancing under the wide and starry sky. Meron ding violinists and acoustic band sa front ng patio. What a stunning restaurant for couples to spend the night with.

"Thank you Chaks for taking me here." I am beyond happy. This is actually the first time we have a decent date since we became a couple.

"Ano ka ba, wala iyon." inabot niya ang kamay ko na nakapatong sa mesa at pinisil. "There is nothing that I wouldn't do for you."

Dahil sa narinig mula sa kanya ay hindi ko napigilan ang hindi matawa. Sinapo ko ang bibig ko upang pigilan ang tawa ko dahil alam kong maiinis siya.

"Tae! Hindi bagay sa akin. Hindi na nga ako mag-eenglish pinagtatawanan mo lang ako." 

Tumigil ako sa kakatawa at ginagap ang kamay niya. "Uy hindi. Sorry, Chaks. Hindi lang kasi ako sanay na nag-eenglish ka." I said sincerely.

Hindi naman pinatagal pa ni Duke ang tampuhan na iyon dahil maliit na bagay lang naman iyon. He smiled at me at nagsimula na naman siyang mang-asar.
