It felt like forever without his mate as he sat on his knees, trying to catch his breath. His heart hurt and so did his head. Pain filled his entire body, a worse pain than when he had died many, many years before. So this was what it would be like huh? To be away from his mate. It was no joke, how much it hurt. It felt like he was being suffocated as well as shot. Though, it almost immediately subsided when he felt the other press his chest against his back. For the first time in forever, all Zachary wanted to do was be held like this. The vampire usually hated being touched. He hated it when his father touched him, he hated it when his family touched him, he even hated touching animals when he had to feed. Though, he welcomed this touch. Leaning back, he let the other smell him. It felt nice, calming even. His breath was still a bit shaky when the other asked if he was hurt. He looked back slightly, letting his head fall on the others shoulder as he reached up and allowed nimble fingers to tangle in the thick hair of his mate. "Not anymore..." He whispered softly. He couldn't hold back. Turning his head slightly, he let his lips press against Koda's, kissing him deeply, gently. He moved and turned his whole body, wrapping his arms around the others neck. That pain... Zachary never wanted to feel that pain again. He hoped he never would. Breaking the kiss, a light blush fell on his cheeks. He felt bad. Did the other feel his pain? Was it different for the other creature? "I.. I'm so sorry..." He whispered gently, feeling guilty. It was strange, usually he would hurt Dakota gladly, not even looking back. Of course, even then he would feel guilty. Though, he never voiced it. Why would he? They were supposed to hate each other. Or.. Were they? Zachary thought about it for a while, sitting there, letting his fingers tangle themselves in the others hair, his own covering his eyes. Deep in thought. What if... What if they were the ones to bring their species together? Zachary had heard his father talk about it once before. That in the future, there would be a savior. Someone to stop the feud. Someone to bring vampires and werewolves together. What if that someone meant a mate couple? He pushed the thoughts aside. It was ridiculous, right? Looking at his mate, he parted his lips and said something he had never said before. "Koda...?" He whispered softly. Zachary had never used the others nickname. Not even when they were kids. Of course, their friendship was very short lived. The name seemed to roll off his tongue. It sounded like velvet. Even tasted like it. Zachary felt himself smile a bit. He has always wanted to be this close to Dakota. "... I'm... I'm glad I ran into you yesterday..." He admitted quietly. Might as well, right? They were mates now. Nothing they could do to stop it.
