Hey, It's Lyle* again. (Btw hope your hand is okay)
I've been having problems with my gender identity. I was born female and identify as non-binary. But I want sooo badly to transition from female to male. It's one of my greatest dreams to look like a guy and dress like a guy, be flat chested and have male reproductive organs.
I want to look like who I feel. But I don't want my friends and girlfriend to think less of me because of this. My girlfriend is amazing and I love her to death, yet I'm not sure how she would respond to me saying that I actually want this. I mean, we've joked about it but I never know if she understands how serious I am about the subject.
I hate the gender dysphoria, and even sometimes I look outside and see a guy, and think about how I wish I could be seen that way.
Any advice?
Love, Lyle*

Dear Lyle*,
Hey, how is everything going? My hand is much better. Soon as it healed everything else in my life seemed to flip over. So, because of that, your letter is late, and I do deeply apologize for that.
The first thing that stuck out to me was “I want”! You want this, but you're afraid of what others will think. Inside your heart, you are a male, not a female. I think you should make your dream come true and be who you truly are.
If your friends are true friends they will support you as you go through this transition. If they don't support you then you should ask yourself if they were truly your friend, to begin with. True friends support one another no matter what, especially with something that helps them be who they truly are.
As for your girlfriend, hopefully, she will stand by you and support you with anything in life as well. You said that y'all have joked about it before, how did she react when this came up? I honestly think you should sit her down and talk to her. Tell her how serious you are, reveal to her that you're not the gender you were born. Explain to her how bad the gender dysphoria can be. If she truly loves you she will stand by you through this decision and love you unconditionally.
Your heart isn't changing, you'll just be a guy. You will still be the same caring, loving, and sweet person you have always been.
The reason I say to follow your dreams is that I don't think anyone should be miserable at all. I think you're very unhappy because you want to please others. How about making yourself happy for once? Follow your dream, be happy, and always be who you're meant to be. If you take my advice, please write back with an update. I want the best for you.
Love Always, Boo
