Dear Boo,
I'm having some trouble writing. I'm writing books I love but can't find inspiration.
I thought, "hey maybe it would be easier to make stories with my friends". So I have and it's been a lot easier, but I still want to write books on my own.
At first I blamed my depression, which gave me a huge lack of motivation. But I've been pretty happy lately. Whenever I write, I feel like giving up, which is weird because I want to write, but I just can't.
Can you please give me some advice?
Lots of love,
Irene*📝📝📝📝📝📝📝📝📝📝📝📝📝
Dear Irene*,
When it comes to finding motivation and inspiration, writing takes commitment, self discipline and desire. You have part of those.
Set time aside every day to write. Just you, the paper and pen. Today's world is about phones, tablets and laptops - use the old method. Get a pencil and paper, so you can see and feel your stories come to life. Plus if something causes a technology fail you're covered. 😂
Here are some tips:
– Write every day, whether it's 30 minutes or 3 hours, write!
– Write an outline of your story. List your characters and their trades. The ideas for the beginning, middle and end of your story. I do mine by what will happen and number them so I can follow that as I write. It helps me have an idea of what I'm gonna write about.
– Write ahead! Writers block may hit you out of nowhere, so write a couple chapters before you begin posting. I always have 3 chapters at ahead of schedule.
– Remember that you have dedicated readers. But most importantly, write for yourself and love it!
– Try reading a book and getting an idea from that and grow your new story. You're a great writee now look forward to anything that comes from your creative mind.
–Check out writing ideas or prompts. There are books on here like that or google ideas.
–Don't compare you book to another author's. We all have our own voice when we write.
I hope these tips can help you and I will be looking for a new book from you!
Love,
